Many thanks - FTTC #68

It's time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC68)! It's the end of the month so we have us a challenge host! This month's challenge host is Velta Wesson. Velta is challenging us to "make our own flowers"! I know you have seen all of these wonderful dimensional homemade flowers being used everywhere. Now is your chance to make your very own and sport them on your cards, too! They look quite amazing, but they really are not that hard to do! You can use any thing from paper to lace to create your flowers. However, if you would like to see a few tutorials from SCS on paper roses, rolled flowers, or tissue flowers, just check out the links. Also, Dawn Burnworth, has also done a tutorial on ribbon flowers here. Whichever form of flower you choose to create, we would love to have you play along with us! Remember to link your card with the Link system at the Flourishes blog for you chance to win a $10 store gift certificate. Also, check out the blog for more ways to win!

You know I'm all about hand made paper flowers so I'm lovin' this challenge! Here's my card--first of all,I stamped the large image from Birds and Vines on a piece of patterned paper from 7 Gypsies' Gypsy Market paper. I inked up the leaves with Memento Bamboo Leaves and the flower heads with Memento Rhubarb Stalk. Then I stamped the sentiment from Thank You in Memento Rich Cocoa. I wanted deep rich colors to match the tone of the paper. Next, I stitched all around, sponged it with Distress Ink in Tea Dye, and roughed up the edges a bit. Finally, I made the paper flowers from more of the Gypsy Market paper and attached them along with some die cut leaves.

I like the old world look of this card and I hope you do too! Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you go visit my team mates and see what they did with the hand made flower challenge today.
