It's not all black and white - FTTC #70

[Don't forget--blogaversary candy is here!]

It's time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC70)! Dee Jackson is our challenge host this week. Dee is challenging us to a color combo. We are to use black and white with a third color of choice. So, black, white, plus ONE! Have fun with it and we look forward to seeing what you create!

What a fun challenge! I love black and white with just a pop of color, so this one was really fun for me :) After I decided to use a sunny yellow for my accent color, I went with a black base and a layer of Summer Sun. I inked up my new Fanciful Flourishes set for this card, and first of all I made some black and white patterned paper with the largest damask-y stamp in the set for the bottom half of the card front. I stamped the image on Classic White card stock with Versafine Onyx Black ink. For the top half, I embossed more Classic White with a Spellbinders embossing plate. Then I stamped the solid butterfly image with Summer Sun ink, cut it out, and stamped the flourished butterfly with Versafine Onyx Black and cut it out. I added some of these Basic Grey Rhinestone Dots to the butterfly's body before popping it up on some Pop Dots. Finally, some black rhinestones for the corner accent and black moire ribbon and some tiny little black and white flowers on the knot. Thanks for a fun challenge, Dee!

Thanks for dropping by today! I hope you'll play along--can't wait to see what color you choose to go with your black and white! Be sure to check out the rest of the FTTC team for inspiration--I know I will!

  10. Beautiful Barbara!! I love this striking color combo. I always avoid pairing black with yellow because of the bumble-bee look, but this proves I'm wrong.
