A good book - CTD #108

Well, can you? LOL, I wasn't sure I was going to be able to at first. Laura chose this week's colors and they were a challenge for me. But after brainstorming a bit and a little trial and error I came up with a card I *really* like.

I'm using an MFT set that's being previewed today and released tonight: Clearly Sentimental About Books. Another FABULOUS set in the Clearly Sentimental line.

I stamped my image on a piece of Basic Grey's Basics: Manilla with Memento Rich Cocoa ink, cut the edge with MFT's soon-to-be-released (as in tonight at 10:00pm EDT!) Notebook Edge Die-namics die and matted it with Chocolate Chip. The base card is a Fossil Scalloped Notecard with a layer of Chocolate Chip and a layer of So Saffron DSP along with a scrap of Basics: Manilla. I'm using Mojo Monday Sketch #154, flipped, so I added that strip of twill and made a flower with the new ROCKIN' Perfect Petal Trio Die-namics die. I am TOTALLY in love with this die set!!! The petals are cut deeper than most so you can get so much dimension with your layers! For the flower, I used Basic Grey's Basics: Kraft and added a glazed brad center. I have a ton of these brads so I thought I should get them out and actually use them--novel idea, right? This one is from Bo Bunny and the colors were perfect. I also added some leaves cut with the leaves from the Flower and Leaf Trio Die-namics die (hey, I had to get my green fix, LOL!). Other than that, I did a little distressing and stitching and I love it.

Here's the inside:

And here are the Die-namics dies I used:

  7. I can't even imagine you struggling with a card or colors for that matter! This is stunning, Bar! I am head over heels for your layout with the text on the side and your offset main panel. That flower is beautiful, and the stitching is a nice touch.
