MFT March Release Blog Hop and Shop!!

Are you ready to hop?! Well, put your hoppin' shoes on 'cause it's time for MFT's March Hop and Shop!!! If you got here from Susan's blog, you're right on track. If not, you seriously need to head on over to Kim's blog because...well, because that's the beginning. You know, because I wouldn't want you to miss anything.

I get to show you Inspired By Flowers Set 1. This set is the first in the Inspired By Flowers year-long series and I can't tell you how much I love them!

On to my project. So where are the flowers? Hang with me, I'll get you there. I found this alterable chip board purse on the clearance rack at some craft store several months ago and snapped it up, knowing it would come in handy. When I was thinking of what to do for this set it occurred to me that a set of cards using these flowers would be awesome. The second thing was that they needed something to hold them. See where I'm going with this?

The first thing I did was to paint it black (remember that song? Nah, most of you don't :)) inside and out. Then I Mod Podge'd some designer paper on the front and commenced to decorate it up with some bling, some die cuts, and some flowers. And I stamped a sentiment from Inspired By Flowers in the opening where a picture (or something) is supposed to go.

Then I made some cards to go inside the sweet little purse. I kept them pretty simple because I'm hoping to be able to get all 12 (yes, at the end of the year we'll have 12 of these beauties) of them in the purse. Won't that be a fabby gift? And, I tried to keep the colors soft. I stamped them all on Perfect Paper Panels and colored them with Copic markers. These flowers remind me of Redouté botanical prints, which I love, so I wanted the flowers to really be the focal point.

The carnation:

And inside. I inked up the flower, stamped it off once, stamped it off the side of the card, colored it with even lighter shades, and, finally, over stamped with the sentiment.

The daffodil:

And the violets:

And here's how they fit in the purse. I *think* I can get all 12 (they're A2 size), plus envelopes, in it if I keep them fairly simple. I've got just enough of this paper collection to make it through the year, so I've got it in my trusty organizer file box for safe keeping ;-)

And here are all of the Die-namics dies I used on this project:

OK, so yeah, I used a lot of dies ;-) But look how versatile they are!! MFT dies ROCK!

And here are the Copic markers I used.

Thanks SO much for stopping by! Now you need to head on over to one of our new Design Team members' blog. I'm sure Alli will have something totally awesome to show you! And don't forget to SHOP!! Oh, and don't forget there's some blog candy somewhere along the way. Commenting on every designer's blog will get you the best chances of winning :)
