I made a card and a gift tag for my project. I cut my onesie die out and stamped the images, then popped it up on foam. The bottom border was made with my
Die-namics Simply Scallops, Medium die and I’m using MFT Hot Fudge and Whip Cream card stock, along with Cappucino Baker’s Twine.

Here’s a close up of the tag. I’m using my Die-namics Traditional Tags STAX for the base.

Sip, Sip HOORAY!–Flourishes Friday Focus

fridayfocuspatriatism_2012jun29wtmk

Hi, everyone, and welcome to Flourishes Friday Focus! Today we’re focusing on Patriotism On Parade—one of my very favorite Flourishes sets! I decided to make an invitation with mine—would this be great for a July 4th get together? I really love this!

The bunting images are from
Patriotism On Parade, of course, and I added the lemonade image from On the Porch to finish it off. Both images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Classic White card stock, sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink, and colored with Copic markers from these collections:

Poppy Collection:
poppy
Delphinium Collection:

Copper Collection:

Buttercup Collection:

Then I cut the lemonade image out with my
Grand Calibur and Standard Circle Nestabilities. The sentiment was stamped on a Nested Pennant flag and popped up on foam.

For the inside, I printed off the
Blossom Collection Invitation Blank and stamped the little parade from Patriotism On Parade at the top. It’s all ready to be filled in and mailed :)

I also have a sad announcement to make. This is my last post as a Flourishes Senior Design Team member. Life is hectic and I needed to step back a little. HOWEVER. I won’t be TOO far away. I’ll be doing a couple posts for Flourishes each month for a brand new feature that starts next week and I hope to see you back for that! Thanks for all the sweet, sweet comments over these last months—every one has been so very appreciated.

I love sentiment sets, yes I do. And Clearly Sentimental About Audrey Hepburn is no exception. Today’s card features a couple of the sentiments, plus two new Die-namics dies releasing in July: Plentiful Petals and Jumbo Squiggle Border.

I stamped the front sentiment on a Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX die cut then constructed my card. I used a basic layout and stitched a Jumbo Squiggle Border across before popping up the sentiment and a Plentiful Petals flower. This flower has four layers—two each of the smallest and the medium sized petals in the set. The center was made with a yellow button from Buttons Galore and More and was tied with twine. MFT card stock used is Whip Cream, Berrylicious, Wild Cherry, and Sour Apple.

Here’s the inside with another sentiment from the set:

Alrighty then, let’s get down to today’s card. Today, for me, it’s all about Flopsey, my favorite bunny! Flopsey was stamped and then colored with Copic markers, then his balloons were paper pieced, the edges sponged, and then popped up on foam. I did some distressing on the patterned papers, tied a bow around, and stamped the sentiment on a Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon flag die cut, which is also popped up on foam dots. MFT card stock used is Kraft and Whip Cream.

Here’s the inside, I wanted to make this a birthday card so I stamped a sentiment from
Big Greetings.

Chill Out! - MFTWSC #78

MFTWSC78_2012jun27

Are you ready for another
MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge? Here’s this week’s sketch. You can find the sketch on the MFT blog and also in the MFT forum on SCS, as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFTWSC78

I’m using another soon to be released set for this card. This is WTG Straight From the Carton and will be available to purchase on July 3. Mark your calendars and get all the details at the MFT Blog.

OK, so I strayed a little bit from the sketch. But the sketch is there for inspiration, right? Right ;-)

I stamped WTG on Neenah Classic Crest Cover, Solar White Smooth, 130lb paper and mostly paper pieced this image. What wasn’t paper pieced was colored with Copic markers. Then I matted it with
Tangy Orange card stock and popped it up on foam. The corrugated wavy line at the bottom was made with a Die-namics die that will also be available to purchase on July 3: Jumbo Squiggle Border. The sentiment was stamped on yet another Die-namics die that will soon be available: Sentiment Strips. It was popped up, as well, and embellished with a twine-tied button. A little sewing was all it needed to finish it off. MFT card stock used on this card: Whip Cream, Tangy Orange, Kraft.

Here’s the inside with another sentiment from the set:

Dream Until Your Dreams Come True–CTD #198

CTD198_2012jun27

Welcome to this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge! Today our colors were chosen by Kerri, and inspired by this colorful umbrella. I’m thinking it would be sweet to be lying under that umbrella right about now :)

swatch 198

So, it’s a gorgeous umbrella but these colors threw me for a loop! I finally dug out some Valentine’s pattern paper with the colors and got it done. Not sure I’m totally happy with it, but it is what it is ;-)

I’m using another image from one of today’s
MFT teasers, My Favorite Sentiments. It will be released on July 3rd and you can find out more about it at the MFT Blog.

I stamped the sentiment (is that not gorgeous, by the way?!) on a Die-namics Clearly Sentimental Label die cut and popped it up on a July release Die-namics Designer Label 3 STAX die cut, along with some bling. To bring out the warm colors, I used Die-namics Royal Rose, Die-namics Mini Royal Roses, and Die-namics Royal Leaves for a little bouquet. A little stitching finished it off! MFT card stock used on this card is: Whip Cream and Berrylicious.

Here’s the inside with another sentiment from the soon to be released set:

And that’s it! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the
Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD198 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week.
