Autumn Leaves–C4C #156

C4C156_2012sep29

Happy Saturday and welcome to this week’s Crazy 4 Challenges! This week Andrea has challenged us to use leaves on our cards or projects.

I could think of no better image than this one from MFT’s Inspired by Autumn set. I went SUPER CAS with this card to let the image take center stage. Before I stamped the image, I used the Rock and Roll technique to ink it up with More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, and finally Old Olive. After I stamped it I over stamped with the awesome sentiment and did a little paper piercing in the upper right corner for some balance. My card base is Kraft card stock with a layer of Jellybean Green card stock.

Here’s the inside with another sentiment from the set:

And that's all for me for me! Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has for you!

THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C156.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Have Hope–MFTWSC #91

MFTWSC91_2012sep26

Are you ready for another MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge? Here’s this week’s sketch. You can find the sketch on the MFT blog and also in the MFT forum on SCS, as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I decided to use my Die-namics Girlie Graphic Tee Die & Stamp Set for today’s card and get started on Breast Cancer Awareness cards. My vertical border was cut with the smallest of my Die-namics Triple Scallop Borders and I added a Die-namics Fishtail Flag STAX layer to that. For the horizontal element, I stitched down the edges and tied around some Pink Sorbet baker’s twine and a Black Licorice button. Then I stamped the tee shirt and popped it up on foam tape before adding some oval flat back beads at the bottom.

Here’s the inside with another sentiment from the set:

Happy Together–CTD #211

CTD211_2012sep26

Hi, all! Happy Wednesday and Happy Color Throwdown day! Today’s colors were chosen by Wanda, using this inspiration piece. What a gorgeous image, right? Right!

swatch 211

But I gotta be honest and say this color combo freaked me out when I first saw it, LOL! Then I thought about it a while and decided to go with a flower. And you KNOW I gotta have leaves, right? I discovered the Summer Starfruit works really well as a green substitute. And I ended up LOVING this card!!

I also decided to go with a white base to keep it from being too busy with this palette of similar colors. I’m using a
Kraft card stock base card with a Sweet Tooth card stock layer, then I added that perfect corner bling element that looks like it was MADE for this card :) Actually, I laid it out and stamped the sentiment , from MFT’s Essential Sentiments first, THEN added the bling. I then made a flower using MFT’s Die-namics Prima Donna Petals dies. The bottom layer is Pumpkin Pie card stock and the top layer is from The Sweetest Thing – Tangerine collection by MME, and as I mentioned already, the leaves were cut from Summer Starfruit. To finish it off, I made the center with Sahara Sand.

Here’s the inside with a sentiment from More Essential Sentiments.

Cruising By…

cruisingby_2012sep24

Hi, everyone! Hope you had a great weekend! I enjoyed the wonderful early Fall weather we’re having—my favorite time of year!

Today I have a card using some
eclectic Paperie supplies for you. I’m also using this week’s i Spy Sketches sketch for my layout. My awesome friend and MFT team mate, Joanne Basile is the featured stamper so how could I not, right?

I’m using some So Happy Together patterned paper from the eP store, along with this Washi tape and a sweet little Maya Road pink Felt Pearl Posy flower. I stamped the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and did some sponging with Antique Linen Distress Ink and my Inkssentials Foam Blending tool to finish it off. The sentiment panel is popped up on Scotch Foam Mounting Tape and I’m using MFT Die-namics dies and stamps. Here’s the inside with another sentiment.

Thanks a Million–C4C #155

C4C155_2012sep22

Happy Saturday! It’s time for Crazy 4 Challenges and today Andrea has challenged us to make a Thank You or Thanksgiving card. I went with a Thank You card.

My layout is very simple, dressed up with a Die-namics Botanical Beauty flower and Die-namics Royal Leaves. I did some stitching, tied around some hemp cord, attached the flower with hot glue, and added the sentiment from Essential Sentiments, stamped on a flag from Die-namics Airplane Greetings Die Only. I’m using Sweet Tooth card stock, Hot Fudge card stock, and Lively patterned paper from Authentique.

Here’s the inside with a sentiment from Die-namics Framed Greetings Die and Stamp Set.

Boo!

boo_2012sep20

Hi, all! Today I have a sweet Halloween card I made with a few supplies from eclectic Paperie. First, that fabulous paper is from Graphic 45’s Happy Haunting 8 x 8 pad. LOVE the rich purple and oranges in this particular pattern.

For the horizontal element I used my MFT Die-namics Harlequin die with another pattern from the paper collection and some Orange Fizz card stock. Then I added a purple seam binding bow and an Orange Fizz button and a Jack O’ Lantern charm using MFT’s Die-namics Halloween Charms. I finished it off with a sentiment made with orange glitter paper and Die-namics High-Rise Alphabet Lowercase, popped up on foam tape.

Here’s the inside with a sentiment from Trick Or Treat With Who’s That Girl, stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

October Birthday–MFTWSC #90

MFTWSC90_2012sep19

Are you ready for another
MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge? Here’s this week’s sketch. You can find the sketch on the MFT blog and also in the MFT forum on SCS, as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFTWSC90

OK, I’m NOT try to rush the year, LOL, but it is moving on, faster than I’d like. October will be here before you know it so I thought I’d make a card that would be perfect for an October birthday. I think this could work for a male or female recipient, don’t you?

I’m using an image from
Inspired by Flowers Set 4 for my card. I stamped the image on Neenah Classic Crest Cover, Solar White Smooth, 130lb paper with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored it with Copic markers. Then I fussy cut it out and sponged the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink before popping it up on foam tape. I used a Die-namics Open Scallop Doily Duo die cut for the half-circle element, tied a Tangy Orange button on with hemp cord, and added the sentiment from Inspired by Months of the Year on a flag cut from Die-namics Airplane Greetings Die Only. I think the rest is pretty self-explanatory, but, as always, let me know if you have any questions. My card base was made with Natural card stock and Hot Fudge card stock, and I added a couple of clear Dew Drops at the top to complete the sketch elements.

Here’s the inside with a sentiment from Finishing Flourishes.
