Hi, everyone, and welcome to this week’s Color Throwdown challenge! This week Melody has chosen a delightful Fall color palette for us, based on a gorgeous inspiration photo!
I decided to go all home décor with this challenge. I hadn’t used MFT’s new Die-namics Autumn Wreath set yet, and since I love Fall I thought it was time I get it out and got to cutting :) I thought these sweet little leaves would make a great candle ring and I think I was right. This color palette works great to bring some Fall into my living room so I got to work.
First of all, I cut a base ring from chipboard with my Die-namics Circle STAX. I used two layers, glued together, to provide strength. Then I cut the large ring of leaves from Hot Fudge card stock and adhered it to my chipboard base ring. Next I cut lots of the individual leaves from Brick Red card stock, Primitive White card stock, Kraft card stock, and some with Sage Shadow. I shaped each leaf a bit and sponged the edges of each with Vintage Photo Distress Ink before adhering them to the Hot Fudge card stock base.
Here’s a close up of it, off the candle—I really love how it turned out.
And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily.
