MFT December Release Rewind

releaserewind1_2013dec12

Hi, everyone! It’s time for this month’s Release Rewind! I love this feature since it gives the designers a great opportunity to use some products we might not have gotten around to using during the release. This almost always happens for me so I’m really excited about this chance to be creative with the amazing new MFT products that are available right HERE, right NOW in the MFT Boutique. To get all the details, be sure to stop by the MFT Blog.

I’m using the two recently released Pure Innocence sets for my cards today: my first card uses PI Wish You Were Here and my second one uses PI Close-Knit.

For my first card, I started with a
Kraft card stock card base, then popped up a Sweet Tooth card stock layer stamped with Typewriter Text Background and Black Licorice ink. Then I added a Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics element, cut from Sno Cone card stock, and stamped with MPD Damask Designs and, again, Black Licorice ink. I stamped the image on X-Press It Blending Card with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copic markers. Then I cut it out with the new Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics and popped it up on foam. I divided the sentiment up on some strips of Sweet Tooth card stock stamped with Black Licorice ink and popped them up, too. At the top of the circle, I added a little Black Licorice ribbon and a Black Licorice button, a Sno Cone button, and a new Insulation Pink button, all tied with hemp cord.

Here’s the inside with another sentiment from the set:

For my second card, and to show you don’t HAVE to color entire images, I started by stamping PI Close-Knit on Sweet Tooth card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored only the scarf, ball of yarn, her barrette and some grounding.

I then cut it out with a Pierced Oval STAX Die-namics and proceeded with the rest of my card. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, added a Black Licorice card stock layer, and then a Polka Dot Cover-Up Die-namics layer cut from Kraft card stock. I popped the image oval up on foam and added an Electric Red button, tied with hemp cord. To finish it off, I stamped the sentiment on a strip of Black Licorice card stock and heat embossed with a Kraft colored embossing powder, then popped it up on foam.

For the inside, I stamped another sentiment from the set.
