I Hope Your Holiday Sparkles–C4C #205

C4C205_2013sep28

Hi, there, everyone! It’s that craaaaaazy time of the week: Crazy 4 Challenges time! This week the challenge is to use bows on your card or project. Another easy peasy challenge, right?

I decided to make another Christmas card for this challenge. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then stamped a peppermint stripe on some more Sweet Tooth card stock with Wild Cherry ink using Plaid Builder Background. I matted a piece of that with Wild Cherry ink and popped it up on foam, after stamping the sentiment, from a’ la modes Sparkling Season with Steel Gray ink.

Then I cut three Die-namics Dainty Bows from red glitter paper, assembled them and popped them up on foam. To finish it off, I added some clear gems for accent.

Here’s the inside, with another sentiment from the set.

And that's it! Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has for you!

THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C205.

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas–MFTWSC #143

MFTWSC143_2013sep25

Hi, everyone, I’m back again with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFTWSC143

I think I’ve mentioned that I’m not a fan of square cards and go A2 whenever I can, which is what I did with this sketch. I decided I’d better get a move on with my Christmas cards, too, so that’s what I went with. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base and then added a popped-up-on-foam layer stamped on Sweet Tooth card stock with LJD Textile Backgrounds and Red Hot ink. I added half of a Die-namics High Tea Party Doily die cut, then stamped the sentiment, from Inspired by Christmas, with Steel Gray ink (my new FAVORITE for sentiments!) on a Die-namics Clearly Sentimental Label, also popped up on foam. To finish it off, I did a lot of sponging with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and added the little holly leaf from Die-namics Christmas Ornaments, with some flat backed red pearls for the berries. I think the curvy corners on the sentiment label can serve as the brad elements on the sketch, don’t you?

The inside has another sentiment from Inspired by Christmas.

I’m Here If You Need Me–CTD #261

CTD261_2013sep25

Welcome to this week’s Color Throwdown challenge! Vickie has chosen a REALLY pretty color palette for us to work with this week. Before I go on, though, I’m sad to announce that Lynn Put has stepped down from the team. We’ll miss your gorgeous creations, Lynn, but we understand your need for more time.

OK, on to my card. With these bold colors I decided to go white for my base. I have a Sweet Tooth card stock base, a Sweet Tooth card stock layer, and then a Sweet Tooth card stock layer cut with Die-namics Modern Morocco.

I cut and stamped the flowers, using Die-namics LJD Wildflowers and LJD Peaceful Wildflowers in the challenge colors on Sweet Tooth card stock and tied them together with silver cord. The sentiment, also from the set, was stamped on an elongated Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon flag with Steel Gray ink and popped up on foam, and finished it off by popping the flower cluster up on foam as well.

For the inside, I simply stamped another sentiment from the set.

Christmas Thank You

chandrescard_2013sep24

Hey, everyone! I have a quick post today showing a card I made for a friend. She wanted a Thank You card with a Christmas theme and something musical for her daughter’s piano teacher.

I found some Christmas patterned paper with music on it and followed MFTWSC #141 for my layout. The sentiment is from LJD Pretty Poppies, stamped on a Die-namics Sentiment Strips die cut and popped up on foam. The flower is Die-namics Winter Rose with Die-namics Royal Leaves. The little half circle cut out was done with a die from Die-namics Blueprints 7. Some stitching, some sponging with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and some enamel dots finished it off.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!

Just Be Happy

steve_marta_album_2013sep9

Hey, everyone! I’m sharing  a mini album I did to take to our friends when we went to Belize last month. They were here visiting in March and these were the photos I took then, and I’m using the album kit that Joanne taught at the MFT retreat in May.

The cover has a sentiment from Chalkboard Greetings and is perfect for this kind of album. The flower was made with Die-namics Botanical Beauty with Die-namics Royal Leaves and a Razzle Berry button tied with hemp cord. The scalloped layer was done with Die-namics Mini Album Square Scallop STAX and the strip across was cut from Die-namics Blueprints 2.

The first fold out is of our friend, Marta, seeing snow in person for the first time :) We were on our way to Natural Bridge and stopped for breakfast—this snow was piled up from a couple of weeks before. My DH was advising her :) The mat was cut with Die-namics Mini Album Bracket STAX.

The right side is all of us on the way to lunch at Chateau Morrisette. This was taken at Lover’s Leap on the Blue Ridge Mountains. The little camera accent is from Die-namics LLD Accent It – Cute Cameras, it’s framed with a Die-namics LLD Insert It – InstaFrame, and the sentiment is from DC Behind the Camera Sentiments.

On this fold-out, on the left is a Die-namics Behind the Camera, along with a Die-namics Heart STAX, and another sentiment from DC Behind the Camera Sentiments.

steve_marta_album3_2013sep9

On the right you’ll see us with more friends having lunch at Chateau Morrisette. Behind the journaling card is a Die-namics LLD Accent It – Story Titles die cut.

This is the back cover. The day we went to Natural Bridge, we stopped at the Roanoke Transportation Museum on the way home. This is my DH on the left and Steve on the right in front of an old locomotive engine.

This fold-out is of our visit to Monticello in Charlottesville. On the left, the sentiment is from LLD Document It – Captured Memories and the flower is a Die-namics Winter Rose with a Lemon Drop button center.

steve_marta_album5_2013sep9

On the right is everyone except me at Natural Bridge. The sentiment, from Die-namics LLD Accent It – Story Starters is clipped on with a mini clothes pin.

And the final fold-out. On the left is us having lunch with a couple more friends: Josh and Alberto. This sentiment is from Chalkboard Greetings.

steve_marta_album6_2013sep9

On the left is me and DH—and Thomas Jefferson :) The photo is matted with a Die-namics LLD Insert It – 3 x 4 Notebook Paper and the heart was cut from Die-namics Heart STAX.

And there you have it! Thanks so much for stopping by!
