Patterned Blooms–MFT April Creative Challenge

creativechallenge1_2014apr22

Hi, everyone! And welcome to MFT’s April Creative Challenge! The MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique. This month we’re Jazzing Up Our Blooms!  Look forward to an assortment of creations from today's participating designers as we create projects with patterned blooms.  Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all the designers who have a project to share with you today.

What a fun challenge this was! I made two cards with patterned blooms and I love how they both turned out. The first one started with a Primitive White card stock base, then I added a panel of Berrylicious card stock stamped with Steel Gray ink and On the Diagonal Background, popped up on foam. I cut a LLD Insert It – Instaframe Die-namics from Steel Gray card stock and stamped the sentiment, from LJD Gift Card Greetings II, with Sweet Tooth pigment ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder and popped that up on foam as well. Then I added a Leaf-Filled Flourish Die-namics cut from Fuse Green card stock and a Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose Die-namics cut from more Primitive White card stock stamped with LJD Art Expression Text and Steel Gray ink. I finished it off with some matching enamel dots.

The inside has a sentiment from Simply Fabulous Sayings.

My second card started with a Primitive Cream card stock base. Then I added a Kraft card stock panel that was stamped with LJD Darling Dots and Natural ink and matted with Red Hot card stock.

Next I cut two sizes of Pierced Traditional Tags STAX Die-namics, one from burlap and one from Primitive Cream card stock. I stamped the sentiment, from LJD Birthday Greetings, on the card stock version, clipped it to the burlap version with a mini clothespin, and popped it up on foam. I added a piece of scrap card stock to the back of the burlap tag first to give it some body.

Then I stamped some more Primitive Cream card stock with the hounds tooth image from LJD Spring Backgrounds and Red Hot ink, cut out some Pretty Posies Die-namics, and assembled the flowers. I added a Chocolate Brown button to the center of each, tied with hemp cord, and attached the flowers to the card. I finished off with some Royal Leaves Die-namics cut from Chocolate Brown card stock.

The inside has another sentiment from LJD Birthday Greetings.
