Birthday Banner–MFTWSC #187

MFTWSC187_2014jul30

Hey, there! It’s Wednesday noon so it must be time for this week’s MFTWSC! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

This card started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Then I whipped up some patterned paper for my background. First I stamped some Tangy Orange card stock with Typewriter Text Background and Steel Gray ink, then I made a plaid by stamping Plaid Builder Background on Sweet Tooth card stock with Nightshift Blue Ink, Lemon Drop Ink, and Tangy Orange Ink. I popped that section up on foam then cut Jumbo Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics from Sweet Tooth Card Stock and, using Small Brick Wall Stencil, I spread on some embossing paste, dried it carefully with my heat tool, and then sponged the bricks with Tangy Orange Ink. After I stamped the sentiment, from PI Happy Banner with Black Licorice Hybrid Ink, I popped up on foam and slipped a piece of Nightshift Blue Grosgrain Ribbon under the edge. For my focal image, I cut X-Press It Blending Card with PI Happy Banner Die-namics, stamped PI Happy Banner on it with Black Licorice Hybrid Ink, colored it with Copic markers, and popped it up on foam, as well.

Here’s the inside, with another sentiment from PI Happy Banner and another partial copy of the image.
