Happy 2015–MFTWSC #209

MFTWSC209_2014dec31

Hello, all! It’s almost 2015 (OK, HOW did THAT happen???) and I’m here to wish you the most happy New Year EVER!! It’s also Wednesday noon so it must be time for this week’s MFTWSC! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I can NOT tell you how much fun I had making this card! I have a video HERE showing you how I made the sponged background—not the exact one I used on the card but one just like it.

And here’s how I put it the card together. I started with a Grout Gray card stock base, then I added my sponged night sky background. To follow the sketch, I ripped the corner off and sponged another piece to match and to insert under the tear line. On that piece, I stamped part of a sentiment from LLD Delicious Birthday with Versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. Moving down the card, I cut Skyline Border Die-namics from Steel Gray card stock and added little pieces of Banana Split card stock for the “lights”. I added a strip of Black Licorice card stock, some silver glitter paper, and a Pinking Edge Circle STAX Die-namics cut from gold glitter paper, popped up on foam. The greeting was cut from metallic gold card stock and Black Licorice card stock using LLD Emmitt Alphabet Die-namics and LLD Emmitt Numbers & Symbols Die-namics. I finished off with some sweet little stars cut from silver glitter paper with Scattered Stars Die-namics.

A sentiment from Celebrate Big was stamped on the inside with Black Licorice dye ink.

Friends

friends_2014dec22

Hi, everyone! Today I’m sharing another card that I was about to submit to Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking when the sad announcement was made.

This card started with a Primitive White card stock base. I did a water color wash on water color paper for the front using Jellybean Green dye ink refill
, Nightshift Blue dye ink refill, and Grape Jelly dye ink refill and a water brush. I have a video tutorial HERE showing how I did the wash. This I stamped the sentiment from Chalkboard Greetings with Versamark and heat embossed with gold details embossing powder. I matted it with metallic gold card stock and popped it up on foam on the base, then finished off with a few gold sequins.

Another sentiment from Chalkboard Greetings was stamped on the inside with Steel Gray dye ink on Primitive White card stock cut with a die from Blueprints 20 Die-namics. The metallic gold mat was cut using another die from that set.

Hello, Hello, Hello…and Thank You!

hello3_2014dec28

Hello, everyone! I have yet another quick and easy thank you card for you today. Each of the three cards I’ve posted since Christmas would be good for mass producing, I think.

For this card, I started with a Grout Gray card stock base. On a piece of trimmed-down Sweet Tooth card stock I stamped Grid Background with Steel Gray dye ink in a grungy manner, then overstamped with images from Abstract Art with, from the top, Peach Bellini dye ink, Limelight dye ink, and Wild Wisteria dye ink. Then I over stamped them with “HELLO” from Photo Booth and Black Licorice dye ink. I popped that up on foam on the base, added some Sun, Moon, & Stars Die-namics cut from black glitter paper and some clear sequins.

More from the sets on the inside, along with Black Licorice card stock and Sweet Tooth card stock cut with dies from Blueprints 5 Die-namics and Blueprints 21 Die-namics.

And there you have it—quick and easy and mass producible :) Thanks so much for stopping by! See you again soon!
