Happy Birthday Shaker Card–SSSC #276

countdownday3b_2015jul5

Hello, all, and welcome to this week’s Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! Today we’re doing a throwback to one of our favorite past sketches. Any sketch that I can do a shaker card with is a favorite of mine, LOL! And what perfect way to do one—MFT’s soon-to-be-released Birthday Centerpieces Die-namics rocks it!

I started with a Grout Gray card stock base, then dry embossed another panel of Grout Gray card stock with the also new Star Celebration Stencil. I’m really into stars lately so I was so excited to see this stencil with varying sizes of stars. I adhered that to the entire card base and then moved on to the front panel. I cut Birthday Centerpieces Die-namics from Sweet Tooth card stock, adhered heat resistant acetate to the window, added foam mounting tape around, and filled it with confetti that comes with the centerpieces set. I cut it from Blue Breeze card stock, Wild Cherry card stock, and Sweet Tooth card stock and also added some 6mm Silver Stars Sequins and Silver Shimmer Seed Beads to round it out and give it some shimmer. I tied around some baker’s twine then I carefully placed the card base on it so that the embossed stars show in the back of the shaker box. I finished off with some glitter paper stars and it was done!

And that’s it for this week’s Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! Hope to see you playing along with YOUR favorite sketch from the past! Thanks so much for stopping by—see you soon!
