Hello Sweet Friend–SSSC #287

SSSC287_2015sep20

Hi, everyone, it’s time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! Karen has a fun sketch for us today—one that I flipped and made my own :)

SSSC287

So, I was channeling van Gogh with this card, LOL! I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, added a strip of Dots & Stripes Sorbet Paper Pack paper, then, on a piece of Ranger watercolor paper, I applies Orange Fizz dye ink and Daffodil dye through Concentric Circle Grid Stencil fading out to a solid Blueberry dye ink wash. I adhered that to the card base and added the sentiment, from Label Maker Sentiments and Label Tape Die-namics, popped up on foam mounting tape. To add the wide strip element, I stenciled on some embossing paste that I colored with Brick Red dye ink and Orange Fizz dye ink through Small Brick Wall Stencil onto Grout Gray card stock. I popped that up on foam and added a Streetlights Die-namics, made with Safety Orange card stock and Black Licorice card stock. The “light” was made by coloring flames on Daffodil card stock with a Copic marker.

And that’s it! I do love my van Gogh look and hope you do too! Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

  1. Like how you interpreted that sketch challenge. I never would have thought of that. The brick, street light and concentric circles stencil came together so well.
