MFTWSC317_2017jan26

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I don’t mind admitting this one threw me for a while—until I started thinking outside the box. Instead of using those rectangles as RECTANGLES, I substituted elements that made sense to me—pill bottles and a sentiment. To begin, I added a strip of Fun & Frolic Paper Pack down the side of my Sweet Tooth card base and worked on another piece of Sweet Tooth card stock. After doing a dry run, I stamped the whole piece with pill bottles from Feel Better and Grout Gray dye ink, and popped it up on foam mounting tape on the base after tying around some baker’s twine. This is Halloween baker’s twine but fit my color scheme, so why not, right?

Next I stamped the pill bottles with Black Licorice hybrid ink on X-Press It Blending Card, cut them out with the coordinating Feel Better Die-namics, colored with Copic markers, and popped them up on the same stamped images on the card front—a sort of spotlighting technique. I cut the sentiment from Well Wishes Die-namics using Cement Gray card stock and stamped the rest with part of a sentiment from Essential Sentiments on Orange Fizz card stock. Two hearts cut from Orange Fizz card stock and Pineapple card stock with Tag Builder Blueprints 6 Die-namics finish it off.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!
