Domo Arigato–My Favorite Things April Creative Construction with Blueprints Challenge

CCwithBP_2017apr25

Mixing and matching Blueprints elements is such an appealing way of creating something new and exciting. Sometimes though, you need a card and you need it in a hurry…enter Blueprints sketches. Every new Blueprints release includes a quartet of sketches featuring the elements. You choose the papers and stamps to coordinate but the design is done for you - easy peasy! Join our team this month as they interpret Blueprints sketches and make them their own.

Blueprints really are great for putting a card together in a hurry. For this one I used Blueprints 13 Die-namics. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then added a layer of Graphic Grid Paper Pack. Next is the bracket element that I cut from X-Press It Blending card, then stamped it all over with Sushi Date stamp set and Black Licorice hybrid ink, then colored with Copic markers and popped it up on foam.

Next I cut Sweet Sunshine Paper Pack and layered it on Black Licorice card stock and popped it up on foam. I stamped the image from Sushi Date on X-Press It Blending Card, colored with Copic markers, fussy cut it out, and popped it up on foam. To finish, I cut the arrow element from Black Licorice card stock, stamped the sentiment with Versamark, heat embossed with white detail embossing powder, and popped it up as well.

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!

Mahalo–My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #329

MFTWSC329_2017apr20

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFT_WSC_329

I created a little beach scene for my card this week. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then added another piece of Sweet Tooth card stock, trimmed down and dry embossed with Waves Stencil. Next is a piece of Ranger Watercolor paper on which I did a watercolor background with Peerless watercolors and added strips of Dots & Stripes Bright Paper Pack following the sketch.

Then I stamped a couple of images from BB Polynesian Paradise on X-Press It Blending card, colored with Copic markers, and fussy cut them out. I popped them up on foam mounting tape and added a Sunshine card stock sun and a Puffy Clouds Die-namics cloud, on which I stamped the sentiment.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Hello There–Color Throwdown Challenge #439

CTD439_2017apr19

Hi and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Vickie is our hostess and she has chosen some bold colors based on her inspiration piece.

swatch439

I decided to add my colors with watercolor so first I stamped Moroccan Lattice Background on Ranger Watercolor Paper and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder, then applied the four challenge colors. To add some contrast, I splattered a little black watercolor paint all over.

Next I stamped the partial sentiment from Essential Sentiments with Black Licorice hybrid ink and Versamark (inked up with Versamark and then the black ink) and heat embossed with fine black embossing powder on Translucent Vellum. That was adhered by wrapping the ends around and taping them down before popped the watercolored panel up on the Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam mounting tape. Then I cut Hello There Die-namics from Black Licorice card stock and adhered it to the vellum after adding some rolled up silk thread for some added interest.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the
Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD439 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd439 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented April Guest Designer, Jeanne Jachna!
