Grateful for You–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #333

MFTWSC333_2017may18

Hi, everyone, I'm back with this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here's this week's sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

This is an interesting sketch and I decided to treat it with a color blocking technique. I used Blueprints 18 Die-namics to cut the top piece from Blue Yonder card stock and the bottom from Grapesicle card stock then hand cut the two strips in between from Wild Wisteria card stock and Summer Splash card stock. I taped all the pieced together on the back then cut the whole thing out with Blueprints 20 Die-namics.

Then I stamped the whole thing with Roses All Over Background and Versamark and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder then popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam mounting tape. I stamped the sentiment from Grateful for You on Black Licorice card stock then heat embossed with white detail embossing powder and adhered it to the card front on top of some curled up silver thread. Next I cut the die from Grateful for You from Sweet Tooth card stock several times, adhered them together, and adhered them to the card front, as well.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!
Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Hey, Sunshine–Color Throwdown Challenge #443

CTD443_2017may17

Hi, everyone! Welcome back for a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Broni is our hostess this week and she has picked some great colors for us based on her inspiration piece.

Since this has a coastal vibe I went coastal too :) First I did a watercolor wash background with Peerless Watercolors on Ranger Watercolor Paper and set it aside. Next I stamped Wave Background on Sweet Tooth card stock with Versamark and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder. I cut the opening with Inside & Out Stitched Oval STAX Die-namics and proceeded to build my scene.

I cut my sand from Latte card stock with Ocean Waves Die-namics and adhered it to the background and popped the front up with foam mounting tape on top. The rest of the elements were cut with Beach Scene Builder Die-namics and added to the scene. Card stock colors are listed below. To finish, the sentiment from PI Beach Day was stamped on Black Licorice card stock cut with Blueprints 27 Die-namics with Versamark, heat embossed with white detail embossing powder and also popped up on foam.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the
Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD443 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd443 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented May Guest Designer, Amy Tsuruta!

For this card, I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base the sponged Broken China Distress Oxide Ink on some Smooth White card stock (jury still out on this ink for me) and popped it up on the base with foam mounting tape after added a strip of Dots & Stripes Bright Paper Pack across the bottom. Then I cut the “you” from Black Licorice card stock and popped it up on foam and added the sentiment, stamped with Versamark on Translucent Vellum and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder.

Then I stamped and cut the flowers from the set with Black Licorice hybrid ink, colored them with Copic markers, and popped them up on the card front and finished off with a variety of sequins.

And there you have it! Sketchy Flowers Card Kit is now available in the
