Fabulous release, amirite??? Any time it’s Christmas it’s good with me :) Today I’m starting of with a sweet Pure Innocence card. She is making her list and checking it twice! She’s colored with Copics and popped up on the card front with foam tape.

I used several patterned papers and I thought the addition of the script background went along with list making. I used a Wild Cherry card stock base and the sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder.

My second card was so.much.fun to make!!!

I was so happy to see this little light bulb included in the new Birdie Brown Happy Pawlidays stamp set and I knew I’d do something fun with it! The focal point is the glittered sentiment from Handwritten Holiday Stamp set and the lights just accent it beautifully, I think. The first thing I did is to draw out my light “cord” map lightly with a pencil. Then I did the sentiment because I wanted the cord behind it. I’m using Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder and my first attempt with Versamark was not successful. Then I remembered I had an Essential Glue Pad and tried stamping with it—it worked PERFECTLY!!! I’ve always had trouble with glitter embossing powders and now I know the secret :) This photo does not show how glittery this is IRL—it’s a thing of beauty.

After I got that done I stamped my light bulbs and colored them with Copics. Here’s my actual working sketch for layout, done on an MFT Smart Grid Paper Pad, without which I could not stamp! As you can see, I made a few adjustments until I got it like I wanted :)

When all the coloring was done, I added highlights with a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen, matted it with Brushed Gold card stock, and popped it up on a Wild Cherry card stock base with foam tape.

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope to see you back tomorrow for Day One Release Countdown!
