Oh, my, this card was fun to make! To begin I stenciled my sky with Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and Blue Breeze dye ink then added the grass, cut from Sour Apple card stock with Grassy Fields Die-namics. The images were stamped with Extreme Black Hybrid ink on No Line Coloring card stock, cut out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored with Copic markers, adding some details with a white gel pen.

countdownday3_2018mar31b

I added Celebratory Banner Die-namics cut from Silver Sparkle card stock, hung the piñata from it, popped up Little Miss PI on foam tape after stamping the sentiment, then finished off with the falling candies. Fun!!

Thanks for stopping by today! See you back tomorrow for Day Two of MFT’s April Release Countdown!

I’m so excited about this release! I love “weather” related stamps, etc., and we have some great ones this month starting with Birdie Brown’s Rain or Shine. I wanted to play on the rain and shine part of this so I created a background with clouds and rain and a bright sun and blue sky moving in. I used the new Mini Raindrops Stencil with translucent embossing paste for the rain on a gray sponged background and a puddle on the pavement. For the top I stenciled Mini Cloud Edges and tucked the sun behind the clouds.

countdownday4_2018mar30b

The images were stamped with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored them with Copic markers, and popped them up on foam tape. The sentiment was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock for the finish.

And that’s it for Day  Four of MFT’s April Release Countdown! Thanks so much for stopping by—see you back tomorrow for Day Three!

I stamped my adorable turtle with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink, cut him (her?) and colored with Copic markers. I built a little scene on and under a Single Stitch Line Tag-Corner Rectangle Frames Die-namics, cut from Cherry Wood Adhesive Backed Sheet, consisting of a sun, some clouds, grass, and a sweet little banner from previously released Party Animals Stamp Set.

countdownday5_2018mar29b

The background was sponged and the sentiment stamped before the scene was assembled and the last thing I did was to pop the turtle up in the scene. How cute is that rainbow turtle??

And that’ it for Day Five of MFT’s April Release Countdown! Thanks so much for stopping by—hope to see you back tomorrow for Day Four!

MFT_WSC_378
I hadn’t gotten around to using this sweet bunny yet so I got her out for this card and put her in a mini scene inside Square Peek-a-Boo Window Die-namics. The background was sponged with Berrylicious and Sour Apple dye inks and the card front popped up on foam mounting tape on a Sweet Celebration Patterned Paper covered card base.

MFTWSC378_2018mar28b

I stamped the image with Gravel Gray Hybrid ink, colored her with Copic markers, and popped her up in the square. The sentiment was heat embossed on Cement Gray card stock and I finished off with some Iridescent Bubbles.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Hugs–Color Throwdown Challenge #486

CTD486_2018mar28

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Lisa is challenging us with a trio of pastels.

swatch486
This one stumped me for a short while until I started going through patterned paper. Once I found all the colors I got out my new fave Triangle STAX Die-namics to use for the color elements.

CTD486_2018mar28b

To create a little interest on the background, I dry embossed Sunrise Radiating Rays Stencil and built my design on it after popping it up on foam on the base. Then I added my patterned paper triangles, overlapping and popping them up on foam. To this I added Leafy Greenery Die-namics cut from Silver Sparkle card stock, Flutter of Butterflies – Lace and Flutter of Butterflies – Solid, both cut from Translucent Vellum for an airy feel, and popped up on clear foam tape. Next I cut Twice the Hugs Die-namics from Sweet Tooth card stock three times layered them up, and adhered them to the card from. To finish off, I added some Sprinkles enamel dots.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD486 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd486 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented March Guest Designer, Cheiron Brandon!

Hits & Highlights–Pastel Patterned Paper Passion

hitsandhighlightspastelpaper_2018mar27

What’s your pattern passion? Whether dots, stripes, or florals, we have you covered with our collection of patterned paper packs. This month, we’ve challenged our designers to work their magic with a specific group of them — it’s all about the pastels! Check out how these soft MFT colors have been worked into a variety of beautiful projects from the team.

I adore the Graphic Grid papers and the pastel collection is one of my favorites. And since I also have a huge crush on the recently released Triangle STAX Die-namics, I decided to have them team up for this card. I wanted a little subtle interest for my card front so I heat embossed Bundles of Blossoms Background in white, then popped it up on foam on the card base. Then I cut triangles from different colors of Graphic Grid Pastel Paper Pack and adhered them to the card front, also popped up on foam. I added several cut from Silver Sparkle card stock for more interest and texture.

hitsandhighlightspastelpaper_2018mar27b

Finally, I cut Twice the Thanks Die-namics from Sweet Tooth card stock three times, layered them up and adhered them to the triangles. I love how this turned out—love the contrast of the grid papers and the floral background!

And there you have it! Thanks so much for stopping by today! See you soon!

Hi everyone, I’m back with a quick card using some products from MFT’s March Release: Smile Die-namics and Basic Shapes – Triangles Stencil.

smile_2018mar24b

I stenciled a rainbow of colors using different size stencil openings and splattered watered down black craft paint. Then I cut SMILE Die-namics and popped it up on foam tape on a card base covered with Black & White Stripes Patterned Paper with Black Licorice card stock under the letters.

Hey, Hot Stuff–MFT Color Challenge #90

MFTCPC90_2019mar22

Hi, all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: cement Gray, Peach Bellini, Coral Crush, and Blue Breeze. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I decided to think out of the box for this card. I actually did a search on volcano photos and saw some nestled in mists and skies with coral sunsets so I set out to replicate them. I sponged my background, added Snow-Capped Mountains as a backdrop for my volcano and created the slider mechanism.

MFTCPC90_2019mar22b

I cut the steam from Translucent Vellum, sponged the edges look more realistic, and added more clouds. The sentiment is from Lava You Stamp Set and the “PULL” is from Interactive Labels Stamp Set.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!
