MFT December Teaser, Day Four

Are you ready for another MFT preview? Today we're showing you Heartfelt, Inspired by Love, and Jolinne - Friendship is Shelter. I'm showing you Jolinne, but first, here's what you need to know:
  • The December Guest Designer Contest ends today at 10 PM EST. The winner will be announced at the release party. Get the deets here.
  • Teasers continue and will be daily through Wednesday, December 1st. Be sure to check Kim's blog at 11:00am for links to designers previewing each day. Every day there will be a prize hidden on two of the Creative Team's blog posts. Leaving a comment on every designer's blog post will give you the best chance of winning every day :)
  • The November Hop and Shop will begin at 10:00pm December 1st, with the hop starting at Kim's Blog.
Soooooooo, on to my card! I stamped Jolinne on a Perfect Paper Panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copic markers. I'm using Basic Grey's new Marjolaine patterned paper for this card--love the blues and greens! I paper pieced her umbrella and did a little shading with Copics on that.

I used the Decorative Doily Die-namics die for a little interest on the base card and the new, soon to be released flowers Die-namics die across the center. To give it a different look, I threaded some narrow ribbon through the cut out centers--it also hides where I joined my two patterned papers :) Another MFT product I used is Sweet Tooth card stock.

And here are the Copics I used:

Thanks SO much for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with the last teaser before release night!!!

~Supplies~
Stamps: Jolinne - Friendship Is Shelter (MFT)
Paper: Sweet Tooth, Perfect Paper Panel (MFT); Smokey Shadow (PTI); Blue Bayou (SU!); Marjolaine 6 x 6 pad (Basic Grey)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

A Year In Flowers, Cyclamen - FTTC #95

It's time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC95)! It's the last Tuesday of the month so we have us a challenge host! Mona Pendleton is our challenge host this month! Thanks so much Mona! Mona is challenging us to doilies! You can use actual doilies or create your own with punches or die cuts. The object is to have a doily look! We look forward to seeing what you create!

Mmmm, I love doilies, so this was a fun challenge for me! And I decided if I was going to get the November flower from A Year In Flowers done I'd better do it soon since November is almost over! I stamped the Cyclamen image from Set #3 on Classic White card stock and colored it with Copic markers, then I cut it out with a Classic Circle Nestabilities die and sponged the edges with Antique Linen Distress ink. The patterned paper I'm using is from Basic Grey's new Curio 6 x 6 pad. My doily is one I picked up a Michaels in the cake decorating section. It's really a stark white, so I sponged it pretty heavily with the distress ink, too, to make it blend with the gorgeous paper. A little matching twill ribbon and some Dew Drops and it was done! I left off a sentiment so this could be used for any number of occasions.

Here are the Copic colors I used:

Now, be sure to go see what my team mates did with this challenge!
Thanks for stopping by!

~Supplies~
Stamps: A Year In Flowers 3 (Flourishes)
Paper: Classic Ivory, Classic White (Flourishes); Soft Suede (SU!); Curio 6 x 6 pad (Basic Grey)
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa; Antique Linen Distress Ink (Ranger)
Accessories/tools: Cuttlebug (Provocraft); Classic Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders); twill (PTI); Dew Drops; Copic markers

And I'm using three MFT Die-namics dies: Dainty Dots Border die will be released on December 1st, and the versatile Cloud Trio and Sunshine dies, which I used on MFT felt. "Heaven, I'm in heaven." Remember that song? That's what came to mind when I first saw this new Die-namics Duo. This set has three flower images and lots of sentiments in a gorgeous script - AND a matching die! I'm seriously in love with this.

I stamped the flower image three times, colored them with Copic markers, and cut them out with the matching die. I'm using 7 Gypsies Conservatory patterned paper and if you look closely, you'll see that I stamped another flower image on the printed element to add interest to the background. I stamped it in Tea Dye Distress Ink, stamped off once, then distressed all the patterned paper edges. I popped the flowers up on Pop Dots, added a flag for the sentiment and it was done. Other MFT products I used are Fossil and Whip Cream card stock.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with another teaser :)

MFT December Teaser, Day One

Can you believe it's time for MFT teasers again!? It's truly scary how fast time is flying, isn't it? Today we're showing you previews of Clearly Sentimental about Teaching (previous Triple Scoop set), Tweeny Teen - You Give Me Wings, and Die-namics Duos - Textile Rectangle Frame & Stamp Set. Before i show you my card, though, here's a few things you need to know:
  • The December Guest Designer Contest begins today and ends on Tuesday, November 30nd at 10 PM EST. The winner will be announced at the release party. Get the deets here.

  • The November Hop and Shop will begin at 10:00pm December 1st, with the hop starting at Kim's Blog.

OK, you got all that? On with my card. I'm using two of the new release sets today: Clearly Sentimental About Teaching and Die-namics Duos - Textile Rectangle Frame & Stamp Set. Every month, the Die-namics frames get better and better, don't they? This month's has two frame patterns, an outline, and several sentiments--you're going to LOVE it!

First, I stamped one of the textile images on Red Hot card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut it out with the matching Die-namics frame, Then I stamped it again, cut the center out before stamping the sentiment from Clearly Sentimental About Teaching on it, swiped the edges with black ink, and popped this up on the red layer. The lined paper element was cut with the Notebook Edge Die-namics die, and I finished it off with some black and Kraft gingham ribbon that has a red thread running through it. I also used MFT's Black Licorice card stock on this card.

Thanks SO much for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with another MFT teaser! This card is also for  Crazy 4 Challenges #65. Get all the deets on the C4C blog.

Thinking Of You - Stamp Simply #167

It's time for another Stamp Simply challenge. Today Sharon wants us to use some black on our cards. Here it is in her words:

Nov. 26 - ssnotime167 - Black Friday -- Well, I guess that's what they call today. Yes, here in the US it is the day after Thanksgiving when the Christmas shopping season steps into full gear and all retailers hope to get their books from the red into the black!  So taking our inspiration from that -- today we will use Black in our creations.  Use black as one of your feature colors or merely as an accent, use a black ribbon or other embellishment -- whatever works for you.  I love black accents on cards and can't wait to see what you'll create!

So, think I went a little overboard? Sharon said black accents, but this card is mostly black! But it *is* stamped simply!!

I was thinking I needed a sympathy card for my stash so that's the direction in which I was going with this. I think it could be simply a "Thinking of you" card, too, especially for a male recipient. Anyway, I'm using some K & Company paper called Black and Ivory. I stamped this image from PTI's Through the Trees on Very Vanilla card stock and matted it with Basic Black. I used a rhinestone flourish under that, and a sweet sentiment flag using Lil' Inker's flag die and a sentiment from Through the Trees.

So, now it's your turn. Come along and play and take us up on the challenge--we'd love to see what you come up with. If you do, be sure to leave the link to your project on Sharon's blog using Mr. Linky. Please use the keyword ssnotime167 if you upload to a public forum. Don't forget to check out Sharon's fabulous sample and those of the design team, including our Guest Designer for November, Claudia Rosa of Pretty Pressings.

Grateful For You - CTD #120 and MFT WSC

Is everyone here in the US ready for Thanksgiving? Tomorrow's turkey day so if you're not, time's running out! I have a Thanksgiving card for you today, using both the Color Throwdown colors and the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club challenge: Thankful for...or Thanksgiving. I'm thankful for many things, not the least of which is the many friendships I've developed through my stamping hobby. Sending Happy Thanksgiving wishes to all my US peeps!

Now, on the the challenges. Danielle picked these colors and I love them!

I couldn't resist bringing out my Basic Grey Indian Summer paper for one last card of the season. I didn't use Old Olive--Kiwi Kiss seems to go better with it so I went with that.

My layout is very simple--shows off those gorgeous papers better :) The sentiment frame was stamped with the Polka Dot Greetings frame and cut out with the matching die, and the sentiment itself is from Framed Greetings.

Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD120 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week.

Thanks Snow Much - FTTC#94

It's time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC94)! This week Cindy Haffner is hosting and she is challenging us to a sketch she has designed. As far as sketches go, there is not much of an explanation necessary. You can turn it and modify the shapes to fit your size card, but in the end, it should still look like the sketch. Good Luck! We cannot wait to see what you create with it!

Isn't that a fabulous sketch! I have a feeling I'll be using this one again! As you can see, I flipped the base for my card today, but I kept all the elements intact.

I'm using a Flourishes set from the last release: Warm Winter Wishes, stamped on Classic White card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. Patterned paper is from a Martha Stewart mat stack I just picked up--love these colors together! For the sentiment, I first stamped a snowflake image with Soft Sky in, then over-stamped the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added some tiny red rhinestones. Edges of all elements were sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

Now, be sure to go see what my team mates did with this challenge!
Thanks for stopping by!

Holiday Wishes - C4C #64

Happy Saturday! It's Crazy 4 Challenges day!! Today Cindy Haffner is our host again and she's challenging us to use circles on our cards or projects. Easy peasy, right?

This week's challenge is a prize challenge. Our sponsor for this week is Wink Wink Ink, one lucky person will randomly be chose from all the participants and will win $15 of digital stamps from the Wink Wink Ink store.

I guess I'm channeling my inner Silke Ledlow again today :) I love Silke's use of white and I wanted this card to be CAS, so it's got a lot of white. I'm using PTI's Tiny Treats: Christmas and 2010 Christmas Tags sets.

Not much to say about this card. I stamped the Mat Stack image, die cut it, and popped it up on some Pure Poppy saddle stitch ribbon, then I stamped the snowflake, punched it out with a 1 3/4" punch and added a Pure Poppy mat before popping it up on top of the Mat Stack image. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment and added some of Silke's signature silver flat backed pearls as accents, and the whole thing is popped up on the base card on foam tape.

Here's the inside using a sentiment from Inside and Out: Christmas.

Sooooo, NOW, be sure to check out the samples by the rest of my crazy girls...er, I mean the Crazy 4 Challenges team ;-)

THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C64.

Thanks so much for dropping in today!

Well Preserved - Stamp Simply #166

I can't believe what a timely challenge this is! I'd already planned to do a "gift from my kitchen" for some special friends this year and this challenge made me get it done and off my list. Thanks for that, Sharon! Here's what she says:

Nov. 19 - ssnotime166 - Well Preserved! -- Is anyone out there still canning, or freezing or drying your summer harvest?  Or is anyone preparing those previously preserved goodies for Thanksgiving or Christmas gifts?  Today is all about preserving our fruits of the harvest.  Take this food related theme wherever it brings you -- use food type stamps, papers or embellishments on a card, decorate a jar of canned goods, or even wrap and decorate a chocolate bar -- we're easy! Let's just see some lovely fruits, veggies or any type of edible in today's creations!!!

So, I was being so domestic-ally diva-ish this fall. I made Crock Pot Apple Butter (OMGosh, delish!) and canned some applesauce, so I thought a pint of each would make a sweet little giftie :) I found this perfect little jar rack and the only thing left to do was to decorate it up!

And, nothing would work any better than MFT's Harvest Who's That Girl (temporarily out of stock) image for the tag. I stamped her on a Perfect Paper Panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copic markers--her shirt is paper pieced. I love how the basket turned out--I drew in the slats and then colored them. Patterned paper is from Graphic 45's Domestic Goddess--most appropriate, don't you think? ;-) And, to show how "green" I am, I reused a manilla label for the base :)

Here are the jar tags. The label and date are computer generated and I'm using Polka Dot Greetings Die-namics Die and Stamp Set.

And for the top of the jars, I added sentiments from Harvest Who's That Girl.

So, now it's your turn. Come along and play and take us up on the challenge--we'd love to see what you come up with. If you do, be sure to leave the link to your project on Sharon's blog using Mr. Linky. Please use the keyword ssnotime166 if you upload to a public forum. Don't forget to check out Sharon's fabulous sample and those of the design team, including our Guest Designer for November, Claudia Rosa of Pretty Pressings.

CTD #119 and MFT Wednesday Stamp Club

Happy Wednesday! I have a multi-purpose card to show you today, LOL! First, it's my Color Throwdown card. I'm the host this week and I chose these colors:

I was thinking "Fall" when I chose them, but I wanted to do this week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club challenge over on the Member Company Forum on SCS, so I sorta changed course a little. I decided to go with this Devonshire paper from Kaisercraft that has all the colors in it and I worked it into the challenge, which is to be inspired by something from the lyrics of My Favorite Things from The Sound Of Music (ACK! run-on sentence, LOL!). So, I'm thinking "Raindrops (the blue and the dots on the green paper) on roses (obvious)" and "Brown paper packages (Fossil card stock), tied up with string (also obvious)." And the sentiment, of course--not *too* obvious, is it? ;-) What do you think--is it workin' for ya? We hope you'll come along and play and show us some of YOUR "favorite things".

I'm using the Framed Greetings Die-namics Die and Stamp Set for this card, stamped on Fossil with Early Espresso ink. Simple layout, with simple embellishments: some twill, a button, and twine.

And finally, this card will also fit the Dirty Dozen Central Theme for this month over on SCS--Well Read. There are tons of books on roses of course, but one of my favorites is Classic Roses by Peter Beales, an English hybridizer.

If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD119 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week. You'll notice a familiar name on the DT line up--YES, Cathy Indelicato is back! Cathy took a little blogging break and is this is her first week back with the Throwdown! We're SO glad to have you back with us, Cathy!

That's the night everyone gets to see (and gets the chance to get their hands on) the next Who's That Girl set! So, welcome to the hop! If you got here from Sherrie's blog you're good to go, if not, why don't you double on back to Kim's blog 'cause if you don't you're gonna miss a whole lot of gorgeousness. Just sayin'...

So, starting right NOW, and through November 17 at 11:59 PM EST) you have the opportunity to purchase the Bottom Of My Heart WTG set TWO WEEKS early. AND, there's a coordinating mini set, Bottom Of My Heart Additions included, which is exclusive to this VIP kit and will never be available for purchase otherwise. Here's what's in the VIP package:

Awesome, right? Uh-HUH!

So, on to my card. I stamped WTG on a Perfect Paper Panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and mostly paper pieced it along with a coloring/shading a little with Copic markers. I just got this MME Tickled Pink paper and I love the sweet colors. BUT when I saw that tiny flower print I knew I had to use it on her dress--PERFECT!! So, the rest is pretty easy. I stamped my sentiment from Bottom Of My Heart Additions on a heart and popped it up, and used my new fave border Die-namics die on the bottom. I'm also using some striped twill and a button from the Summer Collection, along with Berrylicious and Bubblegum card stocks. And one final touch--Glittered Garnishes, also from the Summer collection (apparently out of stock).

This bouquet of hearts is in the set as is this sweet sentiment. Awwwwwwww, right?

Not many Copics used on this card ;-)

Thanks SO much for stopping by! Now you really need to scurry on over to see what the amazing Melody has for you--I'm sure you will be glad you did :)
