Alrighty, then, let’s get down to the card. Fred was stamped on my fave Neenah Classic Crest Cover, Solar White Smooth, 130lb paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. I used the washcloth technique to give him some curly fur, then fussy cut him out. Then, I stamped the pinwheel part twice on patterned paper and paper pieced it to match the Die-namics Perfect Pinwheel that I added to the card. To finish off the center of Fred’s pinwheel, I simply inserted a tiny yellow brad and then popped him up on foam.

I used a
Die-namics Fishtail Flag STAX element, a Die-namics Notched Border, and a sentiment tag made with another soon-to-be-released Die-namics Traditional Tags STAX (be still my heart), tied on with some Mandarin Orange Baker’s Twine.

Fight Like a Girl–MFTWSC #74

MFTWSC74_2012may30

Are you ready for another MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge? Here’s this week’s sketch. You can find the sketch on the MFT blog and also in the MFT forum on SCS, as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I know it’s early for Breast Cancer Awareness but I’ve had this card, using my Die-namics Girly Graphic Tee Die and Stamp Set, in my head since I first laid hands on this set and I couldn’t wait to make it! So I did, LOL!

Soooo, the first thing I did was to cut out my tee shirt, then I stamped the pink ribbon and over stamped with the sentiment. I set that aside and worked on the rest of the card. I still had some of this paper from last year’s BCA month so I hauled it out and got to work. For the rounded element, I used a
Die-namics Decorative Doily, and across the bottom I’m using the soon-to-be-released Die-namics Notched Border. Love this, yes, I do. Some stitching, some pink bling, and some sweet tiny check gingham ribbon and I was ready to pop my tee shirt up on some foam dots and call it done!

Here’s the inside with another sentiment from the set:

You Are In My Thoughts–CTD #194

CTD194_2012may30

Here I am back with this week’s
Color Throwdown Challenge! I’m your host this week and here are the colors I’ve chosen, based on my inspiration piece:

swatch 194

I decided to go sort of CAS with today’s card, so first of all, I cut out an
MFT Die-namics Large Leafy Flourish from Whip Cream card stock, rounded the bottom corners, and adhered it to a Kraft card base with it’s bottom corners rounded, as well. then I made a flower with my Die-namics Fringed Perennial set using Sno Cone card stock and Poppy Parade center. For the center, I colored some small rhinestones with a Copic marker and adhered them inside the “fringe”. To finish it off, I stamped the sentiment, from Clearly Sentimental About Sympathy, and it was done! Really simple, but I think perfect for a sympathy card, don’t you?

Here’s the inside, with another sentiment from the set:

And that’s that! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the
Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD194 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week.

MFT June Teaser, Day One

juneteaserday1_2012may30

Hi everyone! It’s that wonderful time of the month: MFT Teaser Time!!!

TeaserTime_FullSize

Today we’re previewing Godspeed, this month’s Who’s That Girl set. But first, here are the details about the upcoming release on June 5 at 10 PM EST:

  • You can attend the New Release Party on June 5 from 8-10 PM EST HERE in the MFT forum, where you can enjoy fun, games, and PRIZES!
  • The MFT release, including all new stamp sets and Die-namics, is on June 5 at 10 PM EST.  You'll find all the newest products HERE at release time.

The first thing I did was to stamp my image on Neenah Classic Crest Cover, Solar White Smooth, 130lb paper with Memento Tuxedo Black in and color her skin with Copic markers. Then cut her out, added a paper pieced dress, and adhered it to another image stamped on patterned paper. That was matted with Red Hot and Kraft card stock and popped up on a new Die-namics Designer Label 3 STAX die cut. I thought the top part of that looked like it needed something so I added a little button ‘n’ twine interest :)

juneteaserday1_2012may30image

I’m using the June Guest Designer Contest sketch for my layout, so I used some Red Hot Grosgrain Ribbon for the vertical elements, added some bling, and a Die-namics Royal Rose accent. Under the rose you’ll notice I used a new Die-namics Star STAX die cut and some postal baker’s twine. SO many new wonderful dies are coming your way this month! Just wait until you see them all!

juneteaserday1_2012may30rosestar

For the sentiment, I stamped it on a Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon fishtail die cut and popped it up on foam dots.

juneteaserday1_2012may30sent

That pretty much finishes the outside. For the inside, I finished up the thought started on the outside sentiment. And LOOK! There are two images with this month’s set. How cool is that? I just love this!!!

Hey, Girlie–C4C #138

C4C138_2012may26

Hi, all, this will  be a very quick post. I’ve been down with some kind of virus and while I’m on the mend, I’m still not up to snuff.

This is my last
Crazy 4 Challenges challenge to host this month and I’m challenging everyone to make a one layer card. I know, I can hear the groans now ;-) Just try it—you might like it, LOL! I love to step back from all the layers every now and then and just let the design shine through.

For my card, first I did an impression of part of
MFT’s Die-namics Layered Label set, then did some lattice-type score lines using my Scor-Buddy. Then I stamped the sentiment, from More Essential Sentiments. Next I made flower embellishment using my fabulous Die-namics Royal Rose with a couple of Die-namics Royal leaves—yeah, one of them is hiding a bit ;-) I thought it needed a little something more, so I added a Copic-colored rhinestone trio inside the impressed label area.

Here’s the inside with another sentiment from the set:

Here are the Die-namics dies I used on this card:

And that's all for me for me! Be sure to checkout what the rest of the design team has for you!

THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C138.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
