Welcome Baby–C4C #183

C4C183_2013apr27

Happy Saturday, everyone! Today is Crazy 4 Challenges day and KJ has challenged us to make a baby card. Sweet!

My card is CAS and I love it! First I cut out letters spelling “baby” using
Die-namics By the Letters. Then, on a Sweet Tooth card stock base, I adhered the pearly flourish and stamped the sentiment, from DC Baby Onesie in Kraft ink. After I popped up the die cut letters it was done!

On in inside I stamped a sentiment from
Clearly Sentimental About Babies.

And that's it! Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has for you!

THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C183.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Chase Your Dreams–MFTWSC #121

MFTWSC121_2013apr24

Hi, everyone, I’m back again with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. You can find the sketch on the MFT blog and also in the MFT forum on SCS, as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFTWSC121
I started with a Whip Cream card stock card base and added a Steel Gray card stock layer then some patterned paper. As you can see, I used a mini banner for that strip at the top. It’s a great sentiment strip element—if I needed a sentiment strip :) Since my focal point is a sentiment, I just had fun with it. The sentiment is from DC Vertical Greetings, stamped on  Whip Cream card stock cut with a Die-namics Vertical Greetings II Die Only. Love how you can mix and match those!

At the bottom I have a border cut with a Die-namics Open Simply Scallops Trio die—the largest one in the set, cut from Steel Gray card stock. The mini banner was made with Die-namics Mini Pennants, adhered to hemp cord and popped up on foam.

On the inside, there’s another sentiment from the set:

And that’s it from me! Hope to see you playing the sketch!

Thank You Roses–CTD #239

CTD239_2013apr24

Hey, everyone, it’s time for Color Throwdown Challenge! I’m hosting this week and I’ve got some sweet colors for you to play work with. I hope to see lots of you participating this week!

swatch 239

My card has a very simple design, but it’s made special with a set I am in love with! LJD Sweet Roses is just that: sweet. The coordinating Die-namics LJD Roses and Leaves are equally fabulous and make it so easy to create a great flower card with a low profile so it’s mail-friendly.

My base card was made with Whip Cream card stock and Kraft card stock, then I die-cut the roses from Pink Lemonade card stock and Banana Split card stock, along with some Blush Blossom. The roses were then stamped with white pigment ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The leaves were done the same way, using Sour Apple card stock then everything was arranged and adhered with foam tape and hot glue. The sentiment was also embossed on a Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon flag and tucked under the roses.

Here’s the inside with another sentiment from the set.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD239 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week.
