It’s here!! MFT’s February Release is now live in the MFT Boutique and available for purchase.
I have a few cards to show you using the new Go Overboard stamp set, ranging from CAS to a more elaborate scene. I’ve had a ball playing with this set and I know you will, too.
My first card starts with a Whip Cream card stock base, onto which I stenciled some Berrylicious ink using the Waves Stencil. Using Chocolate Brown ink, I stamped the sentiment from Go Overboard. The anchor was cut from Grout Gray card stock using a Let’s Get Nautical Die-namics die, then the edges were sponged with Distress Ink to make it look more realistic Some cotton yarn tied into the hole finished it off.
Another image and sentiment from Go Overboard were stamped on the inside with Chocolate Brown ink and Sno Cone ink.
*****
My second card is a little more involved.
I started off with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then stamped a cluster of three stars (created with individual stamps from LJD On the Line and LLD Journal It – Top Ten) and stamped some Sweet Tooth pigment ink on a Nightshift Blue panel. I layered it on some metallic gold card stock, cut out an opening with Circle STAX Die-namics, and popped it up on foam.
Then I stamped the compass image from Go Overboard on more Nightshift Blue card stock and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I cut it out with another Circle STAX Die-namics and popped it up inside the cut out. The sentiment was stamped on a Sweet Tooth card stock arrow and heat embossed with more gold embossing powder and popped up as well. The arrow was made using Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics—cutting the fishtail on both ends.
Another sentiment from Go Overboard was stamped on the inside with Nightshift Blue ink.
*****
My third card has a few more techniques and layers on it.
I started this card with a Nightshift Blue card stock base, then added a layer of Paver Red card stock cut with Houndstooth Cover-Up Die-namics. Then I stamped the small ship’s wheel image from Go Overboard with Versamark on Kraft card stock to create a background. It was really easy to do, especially if you have some grid paper to help you line up your stamp. So, I popped that up on foam and added a strip of Nightshift Blue card stock tied around with some burgundy twine and tied on a Kraft button.
Then sentiment, also from Go Overboard, was stamped on Primitive White card stock with Nightshift Blue ink and adhered. For the ship’s wheel accent, I stamped some Kraft paper using the woodgrain image from LJD Western Backgrounds and Kraft ink and cut out the wheel from Let’s Get Nautical Die-namics. I finished up by added a few stars cut from Stacking Stars Die-namics. I love the Americana look of this one :)
On the inside is a sentiment from Clearly Sentimental About New Beginnings that I thought fit really nicely with the front sentiment.
*****
For my last card I did one of my favorite things to do: create a scene.
Starting with a Nightshift Blue card stock base, I added a layer of Sweet Tooth card stock cut with Fishnet Cover-Up Die-namics. Next I stamped a piece of Sno Cone card stock with Berrylicious ink using Striped Background and adhered that, and then began to create my scene.
I cut out some Triangles Die-namics and stamped images from Trendy Triangles on them with Red Hot ink, Lemon Drop ink, and Nightshift Blue ink—I think they look like nautical signal flags, don’t you? Love that. I adhered them to some white cotton string, popped them up on foam, and added white enamel dots in between the flags.
The sun was cut from Lemon Drop card stock using a small Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics die and the cloud is from Flat-Bottom Clouds Die-namics. Sailboat Die-namics is new and I used Sweet Tooth card stock, Lemon Drop card stock, Red Hot card stock, and Nightshift Blue card stock for it. The waves were cut with Making Waves Die-namics, cut from Blu Raspberry card stock. I tied on a sailor’s knot made from cotton yarn and popped up the sentiment, which was stamped on a LLD Accent It - Flags & Tags Die-namics with Nightshift Blue ink.
On the inside is another sentiment from Go Overboard.
And that’s it from me! Thanks so much for stopping by…and happy shopping!! And don’t forget that MFT will be giving away TWO $100 vouchers—to have a chance to win one, be sure to comment on each of the designers’ blogs by end of the day on Thursday, February 13. The winners will be announced on the MFT Blog on the Release Rewind Day Two post on Friday.
