Be Amazing–MFTWSC #274

MFTWSC274_2016mar31

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I decided to go with a scrappy design for this card. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Then, using Sun Ray Stencil, I added some molding pasted to more Sweet Tooth card stock and set it aside to dry. I stamped up another strip of Sweet Tooth card stock with Bold Diagonal Stripes Background and Delicata Gold pigment ink, and stamped a sentiment from Simply Fabulous Sayings on Gravel Gray card stock with Versamark and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder.

I created my focal image by cutting LLD Accent It-Feathers and Arrows Die-namics from Ranger Watercolor paper and colored it with Zig Clean Color Brush Markers. I arranged and adhered the stenciled and stamped elements, popping the two side panels up with foam mounting tape and did the same with the feathers. I finished off with some enamel dots and gold threaded baker’s twine.

And that’s it from me! Thanks so much for stopping by—see you soon!

Happy Birthday–CTD #386

CTD386_2016mar30

Hello there, everyone! It’s time for another Color Throwdown Challenge! Lisa is our hostess this week and has chosen a fresh and fun color combo for us.

I decided to get out Party Patterns for this card. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then Black Licorice dye ink, Limelight dye ink, Blu Raspberry dye ink, and Tropical Teal dye ink to stamped up my images on more Sweet Tooth card stock, then popped it up on foam mounting tape on the base.

The sentiment was made with Black Licorice dye ink, Label Maker Sentiments and Label Tape Die-namics, then also popped up on foam on the card front. And it was done! Easy peasy!

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the
Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD386 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd386 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented March Guest Designer, Leslie Miller!

Thanks…I needed That!

countdownday1b_2016mar1

Hi, there, today I have another card using some MFT’s March Release products: Arrow Ends Background Builder, Kind Thanks, and Twice the Thanks Die-namics.

I started with a
Stone Gray card stock base, then I stamped Arrow Ends Background Builder on Ranger Watercolor Paper with Versamark. I heat embossed that with white detail embossing powder, did a watercolor wash with Peerless Watercolors, then filled in the blanks with Black Licorice hybrid ink before popped it up on the base.

Then I added the sentiment from Kind Thanks, stamped with Versamark on Black Licorice card stock, heat embossed it with white detail embossing powder, then popped it up, as well. I cut Twice the Thanks Die-namics three times from Black Licorice card stock, adhered them together for dimension, and adhered it above the sentiment strip. And it was done! This card came together pretty quickly so it would be a good one to mass produce.

Thanks so much for stopping by today—see you soon!

Looks Like You Are Stuck With Me

stuckwithme_2016mar28

Hey, everyone! I simply adore MFT’s March Release LLD Sweet Succulents and had to use it for an idea that’s been perculating in my head for a while. I love how it turned out—the single colored plant represents the “Me” in the sentiment.

My card base is Sweet Tooth card stock and I completely covered the front with Dots & Stripes Neutral Paper Pack in the black and white diagonal stripe. I need a whole pack of just THIS pattern, I use it so much ;-) Then, on some Ranger Watercolor paper, I stamped several succulents and pots, masking as needed to get the dimensional look.

Then I colored only one plant and pot with Zig Clean Color Brush markers in a kind of spotlighting attempt, and simply shaded the others with gray. I popped it up on foam mounting tape and finished off with some enamel dots.

And that’s it! Thanks so much for stopping by today—see you soon!
