Looks Like You Are Stuck With Me–CTD #408

CTD408_2016aug31

Hey, there! It’s time for another Color Throwdown Challenge! Lynn is our hostess this week and she has a primary color palette for us based on her super fun back-go-school inspiration piece.

swatch408

I wasn’t in the back-to-school mood so I pulled out LLD Sweet Succulents and LLD Sweet Succulents Die-namics for this card. I stamped them on Ranger Watercolor Paper with Black Licorice hybrid ink and colored them with Peerless Watercolors and a waterbrush.

I stamped the sentiment at the bottom and popped the Sweet Tooth card stock panel up on foam mounting tape with a strip of Rainbow Stripes Paper Pack to break up the elements.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the
Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD408 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd408 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented August Guest Designer, Wanda Guess!

Happy Halloween–MFT August Creative Construction With Blueprints: Framed

ccwithbp_2016aug29

Blueprints feature many innovative designs that make it so easy to add interest to your projects without a lot of unnecessary effort. Frames that feature multiple openings allow you to compartmentalize and feature numerous images and sentiments without the monotony involved in aligning a variety of dies. This month, we’re shining a spotlight on Blueprints that include these fantastic elements: Blueprints 2 Die-namics, Blueprints 20 Die-namics, Blueprints 27 Die-namics, and Blueprints 29 Die-namics.

Blueprints with frames really do make creating a layout easy! I’ve done a few cards this way and I’m finding I love it so there will be more :) For this card, I’m using Blueprints 27 Die-namics along with Frightfully Fun Halloween and Frightfully Fun Halloween Die-namics. The images were stamped on X-Press It Blending Card with Black Licorice hybrid ink, colored with Copic markers, and arranged on foam mounting tape.

The sentiment in the bottom panel was stamped with Versamark on Black Licorice card stock, heat embossed with white detail embossing powder, and embellished with some googly eyes for fun. The frame was popped up on foam for added dimension on a background of Fun & Frolic Paper Pack.

And that’s it for today! Get out your Blueprints with frames and have some fun! Thanks for stopping by—see you soon!

Hello Pumpkin–C4C #351

C4C351_2016aug27

Hello and welcome to this week’s Crazy 4 Challenges! Jessie is our hostess this month and this week’s challenge is to make a holiday card: Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas.

I guess I ended up with a Halloween card--not a very scary one, though. I started with a
Sweet Tooth card stock base. Next I added Ranger Watercolor paper on which I’d applied a watercolor wash with Peerless Watercolors and a waterbrush, stamped the sentiment from lJD Spooky Sweets with Black Licorice hybrid ink (I use hybrid ink on watercolored surfaces—it provides a crisper image), tied around some baker’s twine, then popped it up on foam mounting tape.

I wanted a watercolor look for my pumpkins, too, so I inked them up with Orange Zest dye ink, gave them a light spritzing with clean water, and stamped. I used the same technique for the stems with Jellybean Green dye ink, cut them out with LJD Spooky Sweets Die-namics, and popped them up on foam.

And that's it! Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has for you!

THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C351.

Thanks for stopping by today—see you soon!

Wishing You a Peaceful Holiday Season–MFT Color Challenge #52

MFTCPC52_2016aug26

Hi, all, I'm back with the newest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here are the colors: Primitive White, Berrylicious, Grout Gray, and Cement Gray. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

Am I the only one who saw WINTER with this color combo? I’m seeing a bright blue sky, leafless trees, and snow covered hills. LOL, oh, that’s my card! ;-)

I started with a
Primitive White card stock base and built on it. Ranger Watercolor Paper with a watercolor wash done with Peerless Watercolors and a waterbrush, Stitched Mountain Range Die-namics cut from Cement Gray card stock and Grout Gray card stock provide the background.

MFTCPC52_2016aug26b

In the foreground Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics, cut from Sweet Tooth card stock, was stamped with the sentiment from Winter Wonderland in Gravel Gray dye ink. Birch Trees Die-namics cut from Primitive White card stock finish off the scene.

Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher; one winner is chosen at random each week! Thanks so much for stopping by—see you soon!
