Hello, Gorgeous–CTD #421

CTD421_2016nov30

Hi everyone, it’s time for another Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Amy Rysavy has chosen a cool palette based on her very festive inspiration piece.

I decided to not do a Christmas card. I was thinking about what to do when Diamond Die-namics popped into my head and a plan was formed :) I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Next I added a strip of Black Licorice card stock across the bottom and stamped the sentiment from Bling It On with Versamark and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder. Then I cut my gems from Ranger Watercolor Paper, colored them with Peerless Watercolors, and added the “facets” cut from Silver Sparkle card stock.

I used the same watercolors to add some splatters to a panel of Ranger Watercolor Paper and popped it up on foam mounting tape on the card base. I finished off by adding my gems by popping them up on foam.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the
Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD421 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd421 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented November Guest Designer, Marisa Ritzen!

It’s Time to Celebrate With Cake–Crazy 4 Challenges #364

C4C364_2016nov26

Hi all, it’s time for another Crazy 4 Challenges! Today’s challenge it to use cake on your card or project. Sweeeeet!

I immediately thought of
LJD Celebrate With Cake and since I hadn’t shown it any love in a while I got it out and went to work. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Then I stamped the cake layers with, top to bottom, Limelight dye ink, Berrylicious dye ink, and Grapesicle dye ink. I stamped the cake plate and the candles with Versamark and heat embossed them with white detail embossing powder and the candle flames with Orange Fizz dye ink.

I adhered all the elements to the card base with foam mounting tape, added some Sparkling Clear Mix sequins, and was done!

And that's it! Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has for you!

THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C364.

Thanks for stopping by today—see you soon!

Have a Beary Good Birthday–MFT Color Challenge #58

MFTCPC58_2016nov25

Hi, all, I'm back with this week's MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Cotton Candy, Cherry Crisp, Field Day, and Berrylicious. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

Weeeeeeel, I just can’t get enough of BB Polar Bear Pals and I thought these colors would be perfect for a little scene using them. Also, the newest release patterned paper, Merry & Bright Paper Pack is PERFECT for this color combo. I love it when a plan comes together!

I started with a
Sweet Tooth card stock base and added some patterned paper to the top and bottom to make my scene more compact. I did a watercolor wash sky using Ranger Watercolor Paper and Peerless Watercolors, added Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics, and Puffy Clouds Die-namics to set the stage.

Then I stamped the images with Black Licorice hybrid ink on X-Press It Blending card, cut them out with BB Polar Bear Pals Die-namics, colored them with Copic markers, and popped them up on foam mounting tape. The sentiment was stamped on a banner from Blueprints 25 Die-namics and also popped up on foam for the finish.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks SO much for stopping by today! See you soon!
