NewReleaseCountdown_Day5
I have a couple of cards to show you today. First up I’m using Springtime Critters and Springtime Critters Die-namics for a cute little scene. I started by sponging my sky using a template cut with Stitched Cloud Edges Die-namics and Blue Breeze dye ink on Sweet Tooth card stock. I popped that up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam mounting tape after stamping the sentiment, adding a strip of the new Dots & Stripes Bright Paper Pack, and tying around some baker’s twine.

I stamped the images with Black Licorice hybrid ink on X-Press It Blending Card, cut them out with the coordinating dies, and colored them with Copic markers. I added Grassy Edges Die-namics cut from Green Room card stock, popped the images up on foam, and was done! What a toad-ally happy card!

Next up,
Springtime Blooms on a CAS design.

This card also started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Then I trimmed down more Sweet Tooth card stock and sponged my background using Berrylicious dye ink and Sour Apple dye ink. Next I dry embossed a frame using Cross-Stitch Rectangle STAX Die-namics and adhered it to the base with foam tape. I cut the new Oval Word Window Frames Die-namics from Brushed Gold card stock and popped it up on the sentiment, then adhered it to the card front.

The images were stamped on X-Press It Blending Card with Black Licorice hybrid ink, cut out with the matching dies, and colored with Copic markers. I popped them up on the card front and finished off with sequins.

And that’s it for Day Five of
MFT’s April Release Countdown! Thanks so much for stopping by—see you back tomorrow for Day Four!

Masculine Birthday–My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #326

MFTWSC326_2017mar30

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFT_WSC_326

I decided to try for a masculine birthday card today—butterflies are masculine, right? Of course, this could be for anyone, but I think it has a bit of a masculine vibe going on. I started with a Whip Cream card stock base, then on more Whip Cream card stock I adhered some Trail Mix Paper Pack cut at an angle with Stitched Basic Edges 2 Die-namics and then popped the panel up on the base with foam mounting tape. Next I added another piece of patterned paper cut with Inside & Out Stitched Rounded Rectangle STAX Die-namics, reinforced with card stock, and popped up on foam.

Then I added the focal elements using Single Stitch Line Rounded Rectangle Frames Die-namics cut from Cherry Wood Adhesive-Backed Sheet, a watercolor washed background using Watercolor Paper Pad and Peerless Watercolors, Bold Greenery Die-namics, cut from Jellybean Green card stock, and Flutter of Butterflies – Lace Die-namics and Flutter of Butterflies – Solid Die-namics, cut from Milk Chocolate card stock and Tangy Orange card stock respectively. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark on Milk Chocolate card stock and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder then adhered to the frame.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!
