Sending You Sunshine - Crazy 4 Challenges #477

Hello and welcome to my last card as March Guest Designer for
Crazy 4 Challenges! It’s been a challenge (a good thing) and so much fun in the process. Many thanks to C4C for having me back! For this last card the challenge is to make a card with some sort of trick or surprise element and since I’d been wanting to make a wiper card I decided this was the time.

So I checked out a couple of You Tube videos to get the hang of the mechanism and you can do that too, so I won’t go into the details on that, but here’s a little video showing the movement. So cute!

The sky was created with Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and Blue Breeze dye ink and I Grassy Hills Die-namics were used for the landscape. I added a bit of Dots & Stripes Bright Paper Pack to dress it up a bit.

The critters are from Wonderful Woodland Friends Stamp Set and Die-namics and the sun is from BB Magical Unicorns Stamp Set and Die-namics. Clear acetate card stock was used for part of the mechanism to raise the sun. The sentiment, from Full of Sunshine Stamp Set was heat embossed on Heavyweight Translucent Vellum and popped up on clear foam tape. Foam mounting tape was used for dimension and Puffy Clouds Die-namics finishes it off.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope to see you playing along at the Crazy 4 Challenges blog this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, too!

I Believe in You–MFT Color Challenge #114

Hi, all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Razzle Berry, Cotton Candy, Lemon Chiffon, and Limelight. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I went with Painted Petals Stamp Set and Die-namics for this card—those colors just said flowers to me ;-) So, I stamped up some flowers and leaves using the challenge colors and proceeded to lay out my card. I added a strip of Black & White Stripes Paper Pack down the left side of a Sweet Tooth card stock base, added a strip of Gold Sparkle card stock, and popped up another panel of Sweet Tooth card stock on which I’d splattered some black and gold acrylic ink and stamped the sentiment from Anything-but-Basic Encouragement Stamp Set.

Then I arranged and adhered the flowers with hot glue—my preferred method. To finish off I added some enamel dots in the challenge colors.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Best. Mom. Ever–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #430

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

What a great sketch! There’s so much you can do with it! I started by applying some molding paste through Sunrise Radiating Rays Stencil and while that was drying I cut MOM Die-namics from Color Celebration Glitter card stock, Stitched Mimi Scallop Circle STAX and Little Numbers Die-namics from Gold Shine card stock and some Sweet Celebration Paper Pack elements.

I also cut and heat embossed the sentiment from All About Mom on Heavyweight Translucent Vellum with Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics. Once everything was done and dry, I assembled the card—which I think is pretty self-explanatory.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

You Are So Loved - Color Throwdown Challenge #536

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Lisa is our hostess and she has challenged us to use a soft pastel color combo.

I decided to go the floral route so I got out Beautiful Bloom Stamp Set and Die-namics. I heat embossed the image with gold detail embossing powder, cut it out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored it with Copic markers.

I didn't have anything that was the exact green so I did a watercolor wash on Ranger Watercolor paper for the background, heat embossed the sentiment from Amything-but-Basic Encouragement Stamp Set, matted it with Gold Sparkle card stock, and popped it up on a Primitive Cream card stock base. Then I adhered the flower image with foam tape and finished off with some gold Sprinkles.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD536 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd536 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, along with our super talented Guest Designer, Kelly Schirmer!

MFT March Monthly Kit Release

Hello and welcome to the MFT Monthly Kit Release! Treat Bag Topper Kit is now available for purchase in the MFT Online Boutique! Be sure to check by the MFT Blog for all the details!

I have two more treat bags for you today--did I mention how much fun I've had with these things??? For my first one I decided to make a treat for a new cat owner--it would surely please the owner and the kitty!! To begin, I cut Treat Bag Topper from Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and sponged it with Berrylicious dye ink then stamped a sentiment from BB New Best Friend Stamp set and adhered it to a Glassine Treat Bag.

Then I added some strips of patterned paper from Party Patterns Paper Pack cut with Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips and Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics. The image was stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut with the coordinating Die-namics, colored with Copic markers, and popped up on foam tape. Cute!

For my second card I was inspired by a project I saw at a craft fair--it's been a while but I filed it away and this was a perfect time to get it out! First, I created some clouds with Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and Blue Breeze dye ink, stenciled the grass with Grassy Edges Stencil and Field Day dye ink, then stamped the sentiment with Black Licorice dye ink and BB Alphabet & Numbers Stamp Set.

Then I cut Stitched Rainbow Die-namics from Electric Red, Orange Zest, Lemon Drop, Field Day, and Lush Lagoon card stock, assembled the rainbow, tucked a sun behind cut with Beach Scene Builder Die-namics and a Puffy Cloud Die-namics. I filled a Flat Treat Bag with M & Ms, adhered the topper and was done!

And there you have it for MFT's March Kit Release! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!

MFT March Kit - Treat Bag Topper Countdown Day Two

Hello and welcome to Day Two of MFT’s March Kit Countdown! Treat Bag Topper Kit and related items will be released at 10am Eastern tomorrow, March 26th, so set your clocks! Be sure to check by the MFT Blog for all the details and for more samples from the design team today!

I've had so much fun with Treat Bag Topper Die-namics! There are SO many occasions and so many cute ways to use it! Today I've chosen a couple of different ways--graduation and to give some encouragement to someone needing it.

For my graduation treat bag, I cut Treat Bag Topper Die-namics from Sweet Tooth card stock and stamped "Class" with BB Alphabet & Numbers Stamp Set, "of" with Love is In the Mail Stamp Set, and cut "19" from Black Licorice card stock with Little Numbers Die-namics. Next I filled my Gusseted Treat Bag with treats and adhered the topper. Then I cut Congrats Die-namics from Gold Shine card stock and twice from Black Licorice card stock, stacked them up and adhered it to the topper.

I made a mortar board using Stitched Tag-Corner Rectangle STAX and Stitched Oval STAX and Black Licorice and Gold Shine card stocks and popped it up on foam tape. For a little contrast, I added Black & White Stripes Paper Pack for the handle for the finish!

*****

My husband actually came up with the embryonic idea behind my second treat bag. I was looking at treats in the grocery store for ideas and was looking at the regular and colored Goldfish crackers. He said, "you could say something like "You're one in a million or something like that" and I immediately thought of this sentiment from LLD Tickled Pink--one of my all-time favorite sentiments! So, an idea was born! Thanks, honey!

For this one, I cut Treat Bag Topper Die-namics from Ranger Watercolor paper and applied a watercolor wash on the front. I stamped the sentiment and then the sea weed from BB Mermazing and adhered it to a Flat Treat Bag filled with regular Goldfish crackers and one green one. Next I stamped the fish from BB Otterly Love You, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored them with Copic markers, and popped them up on the tag with foam tape. I completely adore this!!

And that's it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with two more treat bags for the Release!

MFT March Kit - Treat Bag Topper

Any occasion is a good one to use Treat Bag Topper Die-namics! This will make creating your treat bags easier and so much fun! There are so many opportunities to use these Die-namics and over the next three days the MFT Design Team will be showing you plenty of them!

I have a couple of Easter treat bag ideas for you today starting with the one on the left above. I started by cutting Treat Bag Topper Die-namics from Blue Breeze card stock, added some grass across the bottom cut from Gumdrop Green card stock with Grassy Hills Die-namics. I adhered the topper to a Flat Treat Bag, front and back, with tape runner.

Then I created a little scene using SY Easter Bunnies Stamp Set and Die-namics, The sentiment was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock. Foam tape was used for dimension.
*****

My second bag was started the same way with a Blue Breeze base and a grass element. Then I used PI Somebunny Sweet Stamp Set and Die-namics to create that scene and also finished off with a heat embossed sentiment strip, cut in pieces and popped up on foam at wonky angles.

How sweet would these be for Easter favors for a family dinner or for a child's class? VERY Sweet!! That's it for me today--thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with a couple more non-Easter ideas so I hope you'll stop by!

You Make My Life Magical - Crazy 4 Challenges #476

Hello and welcome to another Crazy 4 Challenges! This week the challenge is all about Harry Potter. Well, I don't know much about Harry so I was more than a little puzzled about what to do. So, as always, I did a little research and found that BB Cute Chemist Stamp Set and Die-namics would work just fine for this.

I started by stamping the image with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut it out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored it with Copic markers. I added some Nuvo Crystal Glaze to his glasses, the beakers, and his shoes and set it aside. For my background, I sponged, top to bottom, Blueberry and Blue Yonder dye inks on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and then stenciled Sweet Tooth pigment ink through Ray of Light Stencil over the ink. It's hard to see in this photo but it's there! Next I added Stitched Valley Die-namics cut from Gravel Gray card stock and Stitched Snowdrifts Die-namics--minus the stitching--cut from Steel Gray card stock with a heat embossed sentiment from BB Magical Dragons Stamp Set. Foam tape was used for dimension to adhere these elements.

Next I created a couple of Castle Die-namics towers, distressed them up with Gravel Gray dye ink, also popped up on foam tape. Then I popped little Harry up on foam tape and finished off with a moon and stars in the sky. The moon was cut from Lemon Chiffon card stock with Circle STAX Set 2 Die-namics and the stars were cut from Silver Sparkle card stock with Tag Builder Blueprints 6

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope to see you playing along at the Crazy 4 Challenges blog this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, too!
