Sending You an Ocean of Love–MFT June Release Countdown, Day Four

Hello and welcome to Day Four of
MFT’s June Release Countdown!!! What did you think of yesterday’s preview? Pretty dang cute, amirite??? Well, there’s more to come so let’s get to it. Today we’re previewing SY Picnic Pals Stamp Set, SY Picnic Pals Die-namics, Slider Surprise Die-namics, Mini Square Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics (Previous Free with $60) and Square Trio Shaker Pouches. Just a reminder that release is on June 4 at 10am Eastern and be sure to stop by the MFT Blog today for all the details.

I am REALLY excited about the new Slider Surprise Die-namics because not only is it awesome but I played a small part in it’s design so it’s near and dear to my heart :) There will be a video on the MFT Blog showing how it works so I won’t recreate that wheel here.

For my card I started by heat embossing Whimsical Waves Background on Ranger Watercolor paper and applying a watercolor wash. When it was dry I cut the front panel using Slider Surprise Die-namics and set it aside. Next I stamped and colored images from BB Friend with Fins Stamp Set, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics and set them aside. Next I placed the front panel on an A2 card base created from Berrylicious card stock and faintly drew with pencil inside the flap opening on the card base—this was to help with positioning the sentiment.

Then I stamped the sentiment and the fishes (with Cement Gray dye ink) and added eyes with a black Copic Multiliner pen. Next I cut the slider panel from Sweet Tooth card stock, stamped the sentiment from Interactive Labels Stamp Set adhered it to the bottom of the flap, added foam tape around the sides and bottom, and adhered it to the card base. The only think left to do was pop the images up on foam on the flap and I was done! I hope you’ll love this new Die-namics as much as I do!!

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back tomorrow for Day Three of MFT’s June Release Countdown!

So Much Pun from Doodlebug Design

Hello, I’m back today with more cards using the So Much Pun Collection along with Pill Better Doodle Stamps and Doodle Cuts. I really do love these punny stamps and had so much fun playing with them! For my first card, I stamped the band-aid image three times and colored them in fun colors then used them to “heal” a paper tear :) Two sentiments were heat embossed on speech bubbles with appropriate emojis stamped on the corresponding bandage. The center one has a heart for some warm fuzzies. I used Dot-Stripe Rainbow Petite Prints and  Floral-graph Rainbow Petite Prints for the background.

For my second card I masked a bunch of the pill bottles, added the sentiment, and grounded them all with Copic marker coloring. Once bottle became the highlight and was stamped, cut out with Doodle Cuts, colored with Copic markers, and popped up on foam mounting tape. I added some paper from the So Much Pun 6 x 6 paper pad, Some Ladybug Doodle Twine, and several Sprinkles to dress it up.

My third card is clean and simple with a patterned paper-covered base, an image, and a sentiment. I made it special by paper piecing the tissue box, cutting a slit with my craft knife and inserting a piece of real facial tissue through the slit. I added some grounding with Copic markers and an aqua sponged background.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope I’ve provided you with some ideas for your Pill Better Doodle Stamps and Doodle Cuts and So Much Pun Collection!

Hello from Me to You–MFT June Release Countdown, Day Five

Hello and welcome to Day Five of
MFT’s June Release Countdown! I keep saying this, but June already????? JUNE???? How can that be?????? This month’s release will definitely take your mind off how fast time is flying though, starting with today’s lineup of previews: Friends with Fins Stamp Set, Friends with Fins Die-namics, Pop-Up Wiper Card Components Die-namics, Cute Cloud Outlines Die-namics (Free with $60), and Puppy Love Die-namics. Release is on June 4 at 10am Eastern so mark your calendars and be sure to stop by the MFT Blog today to get all the details and see what other Design Team members have to show you.

If you know me you know I’m a cat lover but I couldn’t resist this adorable Puppy Love Die-namics today!!! Is he not the cutest???? To create my card I started by sponging my sky using Mini Cloud Edges Stencil, Blue Breeze dye ink, and a sponge dauber. I love daubers for this stencil rather than ink blending
tools because I think I get more control with the smaller sponge. I covered a whole A2 panel of Sweet Tooth card stock then adhered it to a card base with tape runner. Next I cut Sour Apple card stock with the grass element from the new Pop-Up Wiper Card Components Die-namics. This die is longer than usual to accommodate the wiper card design so I got both layers with one run of my machine—WIN! I adhered one layer directly and popped one up on foam tape.

Next I created my puppy using Sweet Tooth, Kraft, and Black Licorice card stocks and placed him temporarily to see where the sentiment could go. I stamped the sentiment, from Well, Hello Stamp Set with Extreme Black hybrid ink, popped the puppy up on foam tape and was done!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! See you back tomorrow for Day Four of MFT’s June Release Countdown!

To the Birthday Chick–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #439

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

So, this really was a challenge, LOL! I had to do a lot of thinking to come up with something for all of those rectangles ;-) I started looking for a set that had five coordinating images and I came up with BB Birthday Chicks. The background was done with a watercolor wash, then I popped the sections up on foam tape and added strips of Grassy Fields Die-namics cut from Sour Apple card stock.

Then I stamped the images, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored with Copic markers, and popped up on the sections with foam tape. The sentiment was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock cut with Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips for the finish.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Congrats to You–Color Throwdown Challenge #545

Hi everyone! Welcome to a brand new
Color Throwdown Challenge! This week my girl Jodi is our hostess and she’s chosen some colors for us inspired by this lovely succulent garden.

I didn’t really want to do flowers and I did succulents a few weeks back so I started looking though my stamps and dies and spied Color Drops STAX Die-namics—I hadn’t used them in a long time so I decided to show them some love. I started with a Sweet Tooth cards stock base and added another panel of Sweet Tooth card stock dry embossed with Star Celebration Stencil to add a little interest. Then I cut three different sizes of Color Drop STAX Die-namics from the challenge colors and arranged them on the card front.

Once I had them like I wanted, I popped them up on foam tape. Next I heat embossed part of a sentiment from Yay for You Stamp Set on Black Licorice card stock cut with Skinny Strips Die-namics and adhered it directly to the card front. Lastly, I cut Congrats Die-namics from Gold Sparkle card stock and adhered it, partly directly and partly with foam tape.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the
Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD545 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd545 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!

You’ll Always Be My Best in Show: MFT May Hits & Highlights

Hey there and welcome to the May edition of
MFT’s Design Team Hits & Highlights challenge. This month we’re challenged to create with BB Best in Show Stamp Set and Die-namics.

For my card, I framed a little scene using the adorable corgi doing his victory lap after having been awarded a best in show ribbon :) The background was sponged with Berrylicious and Sour Apple dye inks, the images were stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink and colored with Copic markers before being popped up on the scene. Patterned paper was used for the posts on the obstacle course.

The sentiment was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock and the ribbon created using several Die-namics and Cornflower and Gold Shine card stocks. The frame was cut with Inside & Out Stitched Oval STAX Die-namics and foam tape was used for dimension.

And here’s a little somethin’ for you: today only, enjoy 50% off the featured products: Best in Show Stamp Set & Die-namics. No code necessary.

Find Joy in Everyday Blessings - Wreath Building with MFT & Gina K.

We have a fun challenge for the month of May – we’ve been challenged to get creative with our MFT stamps and the Gina K Wreath Builder Templates. These templates come in two sizes to create 3 3/4" wreaths and 4" wreaths and are a ton of fun to play with!

I chose to build my wreath with the smaller template and Flower Silhouetted Stamp Set. I used Limelight and Gumdrop Green Premium Dye Inks for the foliage stamp and Peach Bellini and Grapesicle for the other two images on Sweet Tooth card stock. Once that was done I matted my wreath panel with Peach Bellini Card Stock and popped it up on a 4 1/4” square Sweet Tooth Card Stock base.

The sentiment is from LJD Cheerful Blessings Stamp Set and was stamped on Sweet Tooth card stock cut with Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics with Black Licorice dye ink. I matted that with Grapesicle card stock cut with Mini Scallop Circle STAX Die-namics and adhered them both with foam mounting tape for dimension. To finish off and to add a little sparkle I added a few sequins.

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!
