MFT November Release Countdown Kickoff—Five Days Until Release

Hello and welcome to the first Day of MFT’s November Release Countdown! Release is in five days, on November 5th at 10am Eastern so make a note. Today we’re previewing Snow Buddies Stamp Set, Snow Buddies Die-namics, Polar Penguins Stamp Set, Polar Penguins Die-namics, Party Lights Stamp Set (this also has a die included with it), Snowy Hillside Die-namics, Winter Stencil Strips Stencil, and Mistletoe Cover-Up Die-namics. That’s a lot of cuteness right there and we can’t wait to show it to you! Be sure to stop by the
MFT Blog to see some more inspiration from the Design Team.

I might have squealed when I opened my Design Team package and saw Party Lights Stamp Set and the accompanying Die-namics. I’ve been wanting Christmas lights for the longest time and I finally have them! I love the size! Not too big and not too small—they’re juuuuuuust right! For my first card today I stamped a pile of them at the top of a Sweet Tooth card stock panel. The cord was stamped with Jellybean Green dye ink and the lights stamped using Red Hot, Orange Zest, Pineapple, Cornflower, and Field Day.

Once the lights were stamped I added highlights with a white gel pen, adhered the panel to a Sweet Tooth card stock base, and stamped the sentiment from Hand Lettered Holiday to finish off. I love this card!

My second card is a little busier—this little penguin can’t wait for Christmas!

I started by sponging the background on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper: Tumbled Glass and Faded Denim for the sky and Broken China and Mermaid Lagoon for the sea, then spattered with some clear water. While that was drying I spread sparkling snow embossing paste through Winter Stencil Strips Stencil at the bottom of a Sweet Tooth card stock base. After it dried I replaced the stencil and inked it with Wild Cherry Dye Ink. I adhered the background panel directly and added Snow Drifts Die-namics, cut from Sweet Tooth card stock.

The images were stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink on No Line Coloring card stock, cut out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored with Copic markers, and popped up in the scene. How adorable are these images???

And that’s it for me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back tomorrow for the second day of
MFT November Release Countdown!

Ho, Ho, Ho, Jingle All the Way - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #461

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I had lots of fun with this—I wanted to create something “out of the box” so I started thinking what I could substitute for the circle elements. Impact Alphabet Die-namics cut from Holly Jolly Glitter card stock to the rescue! I wanted it to be a Christmas card so I had to come up with two-letter words and Ho was it! I CASE’d a sentiment from an MFT Stamp set and used Birdie Brown Alphabet & Numbers Die-namics to take it to the third power :)

The sentiment is from Bitty Holiday Wishes and just fit so I gold heat embossed it on Black Licorice card stock cut with Skinny Strips Die-namics tied some mini jingle bells on with red twine, and popped it up on the card base. Black & White Stripes Patterned Paper covered the card base and tied it all together.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Thanks for Everything–Color Throwdown Challenge #567

Hello and welcome to a brand new
Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Lori is our hostess and she has some warm Autumnal colors to challenge us with based on this lovely inspiration piece.

I hadn’t used Garden Flourish Background in some time and I thought embossing it with gold detail embossing powder would be a great background if I sponged these colors. And I was right—it just shines through them! Once the background was done the rest was a piece of cake!

I embossed it on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and then sponged with Crushed Olive, Fired Brick, Peacock Feathers, and Salty Ocean Ranger Distress inks then popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base after cutting it out with A2 Rectangle STAX Set 2

The sentiment was created by heat embossing part of a sentiment from Bitty Thanks & Gratitude on Tangy Orange card stock, cut with Skinny Strips Die-namics, with more gold detail embossing powder and adhering directly to the card front. I finished it by using Thanks & Hello Die-namics, cut from Gold Sparkle card stock, layered with two copies from scraps, and adhered with glue on top of the sentiment strip.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD567 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd567 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our super talented October Guest Designer, Rosemary Dennis!
