Hey There, Pumpkin - MFT Color Challenge #172

Hi all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here's this week's color combo: Summer Splash, Grapesicle, Gravel Gray, and Chantilly Cream. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I'm still in Fall mode so I tried to see if I could use these colors for a Fall card. I think I did it! I mean, I have pillows with pink pumpkins for my living room so why not purple and aqua, right?

Using Autumn Blessing Stamp Set, I stamped and masked off the larger center pumpkin (I'm using retired Gravel Gray hybrid ink that I still had in my stash--don't tell anyone, 'K?) then stamped the two smaller ones and the sentiment on No Line Coloring card stock.

Then I colored the pumpkins with Copic markers and adhered the card front onto a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape, and finished off with matching glitter enamel dots.

And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn to play! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Hope Your Day is Spooktacular - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #556

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I looked askance at this sketch when I first saw it but then decided to have fun with it--which is what it's all about anyway, right?? So, to begin, I cut my large circle elements from Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and the smaller one from Sweet Tooth card stock with A2 Circle STAX Die-namics. The smaller one became the moon by stamping Distressed Patterns on it with Cement Gray dye ink.

Next the larger circles were sponged with Broken China, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire, & Black Soot Distress Inks and when dry, spattered with white craft paint. While they were drying I stamped the images from Ghostly Greetings Stamp Set on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored them with Copic markers.

Next I assembled the card, adhering all of the elements with foam tape for dimension. The sentiment, from Itty Bitty Boos Stamp Set was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock and also popped up on foam.

And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn to play! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Good Luck - Color Throwdown Challenge #657

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Lynn is our hostess and she has a darling school-themed inspiration piece for us to work with.

I decided to carry on with the school theme especially since so many kids are heading back to school in the near future if they haven't already. Hoping this card sends some vibes for their safety their way. To begin, I stamped the image from PI Bright Future Stamp Set on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut it out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored it with Copic markers.

Then I set about the scene. Red Hot dye ink was applied through English Brick Wall stencil onto a panel of Sweet Tooth card stock and adhered to a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape. Sour Apple card stock was cut with Grassy Fields Die-namics and adhered to the bottom of the card front. Window Dressing Die-namics was cut from Sweet Tooth card stock and backed with Cement Gray card stock for a little interest.

The sentiment was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock cut with Essential Stitched Sentiment Strips Die-namics and popped up on foam and I finished off by popping the colored image up on foam as well.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword #CTD657 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd657 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!

Stuffed Santa, MFT's August Card Kit, is Now Available for Purchase!!

It's time!! It's time!!! MFT's August Card Kit, Stuffed Santa, is now available for purchase in the MFT Online Boutique!! Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details and for more inspiration from the MFT Design Team.

If this card kit doesn't start to get you in the Christmas mood, nothing will! Stuffed Santa is an awesome kit that can be paired with products you already own to make it your own, as I show you. I wanted to have another being present, as if it were speaking the sentiment and who better than Rudolph, who would be with Santa anyway, amirite? Rudolph is from Joyous Holidays Stamp Set and Die-namics from last year and perfect for the job at hand!

To begin, I created my background, sponging Broken China, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot Distress inks through Watercolor Wash Rectangle Stencil on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper. Once Dry, I spattered with white craft paint for stars and set it aside. All images were stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink on No Line Coloring card stock, cut with the coordinating Die-namics and colored with Copic markers. Except the chimney, since I wanted to extend the snow to represent the entire roof. That was done with a black Copic Multiliner pen and then fussy cut out.

Once the sky was dry I heat embossed the sentiment and adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape. The moon was cut from Sweet Tooth card stock with A2 Circle STAX and stamped with Distressed Patterns Stamp Set and Cement Gray dye ink then adhered directly. The colored images were then popped up in the scene with foam tape. I love this!

And that's it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by, now go shop!

I Have Snow Much Fun with You - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #555

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I thought this sketch lends itself perfectly to a snow scene and BB Ready, Set, Snow from the latest Vault Release was perfect for that scene! To begin, I cut Sweet Tooth card stock with Slimline Starter after sponging Slimline Cloud Edges Stencil with Lazy Day dye ink and adhered it directly to a Sweet Tooth card stock base.

Next I cut Stitched Slimline Snow Drifts Die-namics from Sweet Tooth card stock, stamped the sentiment, and popped the two layers up on the card front with foam tape. The images were stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored with Copic markers.

To complete the card, the colored images were popped up in the scene with foam tape. What fun!

And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn to play! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

You're a Class Act - Color Throwdown Challenge #656

Hello, it's time for a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Lisa is our hostess and she has a timely color combo for us to play with.

And what better products to use for this challenge than BB Class Act Stamp Set and Die-namics! To begin, I created my background by first laying down a strip of Cement Gray card stock for the floor, and applying molding paste through English Brick Wall Stencil for the wall and popped up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base when it was dry.

Next I added a black board by framing a piece of Black Licorice card stock with Kraft card stock cut with A2 Rectangle Frames Die-namics. The sentiment was heat embossed (am I the only one who misses chalkboard art?) and adhered directly to the card front.

The images were stamped on No Line card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut with the coordinating Die-namics, colored with Copic markers and then popped up on the card front with foam tape. Fun!

It's Time!! MFT's August Vault is Open!!

Hey there and welcome to MFT's August Vault Release! It's all available for purchase right now in the MFT Online Boutique!! Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details!

I do love me some Birdie Brown and this Vault Release has been spectacular, bringing back some of my all-time favorites! One of them is definitely Coo Day so I used it for today's release. To begin, I stamped the images on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored them with Copic markers. Along with the images, I cut BB Icebergs Die-namics and added some shading with Copic markers, as well.

Next I created my background, sponging Broken China and Abandoned Coral Distressed inks on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and adhered it to the top of a Sweet Tooth card stock base after stamping the sentiment with Extreme Black hybrid ink. On some Ken Oliver watercolor paper, I applied a wash using Peerless Watercolors and spattered it with clean water. Once dry, it was also adhered to the card base, at the bottom.

Next I added Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics cut from Sweet Tooth card stock, popped up on foam, then all the images and icebergs to finish the scene.

What fun it was to play with this set again!! Thanks so much for stopping by today! See you soon, now go shop!
