Hello, Pumpkin - Color Throwdown Challenge #666

Hello everyone, it's time for a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Lisa is our hostess and she has a decidedly Fall color palette for us to work with base on her adorable inspiration piece!

I hadn't had an opportunity to use Leaf Skeleton Background yet so I thought this would be the perfect time to do so. It was heat embossed on Ranger Watercolor paper with gold detail embossing powder and then a watercolor wash using Peerless Watercolors was applied. Once dry, it was adhered to a Kraft card stock base using Fun Foam (watercolor washes will often warp the paper and strips of foam tape don't give you a perfectly flat panel--Fun Foam takes care of that).

Next I cut Little Hello from Milk Chocolate and Gold Shine card stocks, glued them together and popped them up on the card front with foam tape. One pumpkin image from Autumn Blessing Stamp Set was stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with brown Copic-friendly ink and colored with Copics. It was fussy cut out and a tendril was added using floral wire colored brown then also added to the card front with foam tape.

To finish off, the sentiment, from Itty Bitty Boos Stamp Set was heat embossed on Milk Chocolate card stock cut with Itty Bitty Strips Die-namics and also popped up on foam.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword #CTD666 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd666 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!

I couldn't get through this release without using at least ONE cat, LOL! I love the kitties in Cool Cat Stamp Set and Die-namics--so cute!! To begin, I did a watercolor wash on Ranger Watercolor paper for my background.

Once dry, I spattered with some clean water and some gold and black acrylic ink and adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape after stamping the sentiment with Extreme Black hybrid ink.

The images were stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them with the coordinating Die-namics, colored with Copic markers (the food bowl is gold, as befits this feline), and popped them up on the card front with foam tape. To finish off, I added some gold glitter enamel dots.

This little fellow always brought a smile to my face so I just had to use him today! To begin. I created my background by sponging Lazy Day Dye Ink on Sweet Tooth card stock using Mini Cloud Edges Stencil, and the grounding was done with Copic markers.

Next I cut more Sweet Tooth card stock with Watercolor Wash Free Form Die-namics (I love this, too!!!), and stamped the sentiment from the set at the bottom with Extreme Black hybrid ink. I wanted to add a rainbow that spanned both layers so next I taped the back ground and the card front together with removable tape and drew the rainbow using a salad plate as a "template". Once done I adhered the background to a Sweet Tooth card stock base and popped the card front up on foam tape, added Petite Clouds Die-namics cut from more Sweet Tooth card stock to conceal the ends.

The image was then stamped on No Lined Coloring card stock, cut with the coordinating Die-namics, colored with Copic markers, and popped up on the card front with foam tape for the finish. I had so much fun making this card!

And there you have it from me for today! Thanks so much for stopping by today! See you back tomorrow for Day One of MFT's October Vault Release Countdown!

Merry and Bright - Color Throwdown Challenge #665

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Susie Moore is our hostess and she has a SWEET color palette for us based on this non-traditional Halloween-themed image.

I used these colors for a non-traditional Christmas card design and I love it! To begin, I stamped some "greenery" on the side of a piece of Sweet Tooth card stock using Black Licorice dye ink and Wonderful Woods Stamp Set. Next I heat embossed the sentiment, from Merry and Bright Stamp Set with silver detail embossing powder.

Once that was done I popped the card front up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape, then cut the light string from Christmas Lights Die-namics from Silver Sparkle card stock and adhered it on top of the "greenery". Then I cut and assembled the lights, using Cotton Candy, Sno Cone, and Grapesicle card stock along with more Silver Sparkle card stock and popped them up on foam on the string.

To finish off I added some matching/coordinating glitter enamel dots and was done!

Hello Fall - Color Throwdown Challenge #664

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Amy Rohl is our hostess and she's chosen a bit of an alternative Fall color palette based on her gorgeous inspiration piece.

To begin, I sponged a piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with Caribbean Sea dye ink and stamped the sentiment, from Autumn Blessing Stamp Set with Milk Chocolate dye ink then popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base.

Next I cut a bunch of Falling Leaves Die-namics from Caribbean Sea, Kraft, and Milk Chocolate card stock, sponging the Kraft and Caribbean Sea with Milk Chocolate dye ink, then arranged and adhered with hot glue.

To finish off I added a few enamel dots and was done!

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have.
