Sending Prayers - Color Throwdown Challenge #677

Hey there, it's time for a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Lori is our hostess and she has some Spring-like hues for us to play with.

Even though the colors say Spring, I'm not ready to give up Winter yet--yeah, I know, I'm a freak, LOL! I thought the pink and purple would be perfect for a Winter sunset so that's where I went. So, to begin, I sponged Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet Distress Inks on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper, then stamped Wonderful Woods Stamp Set using Jalapeño Popper and Milk Chocolate dye inks then adhered the panel to a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape.

Next I added Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics, cut from Sweet Tooth card stock, also adhered with foam tape for dimension after stamping the sentiment from Deepest Sympathy Stamp Set with Milk Chocolate dye ink and finished off with some matching glitter enamel dots.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword #CTD677 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd677 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!

The
Celebrate Everything Card Kit includes the following products:

The following will be available as a separate purchase:
Perfect Present Die-namics
The Free with $60 releasing with this kit is Itty Bitty Celebrations Stamp Set.

I went really CAS with today's card and I'm in love! To begin, I used Time to Celebrate Patterned Paper for my color palette, so I added a narrow strip of it down each side of a Sweet Tooth card stock base and set it aside. Next, I cut the candles and flames from Celebrate with Cake Die-namics from Ranger Watercolor Paper and watercolored them with Peerless Watercolors using the paper colors and set them aside to dry.

After using the die to plan candle placement, I stamped the sentiment, from Itty Bitty Celebrations Stamp Set with Extreme Black hybrid ink on a Sweet Tooth card stock panel and adhered it to the card base with foam tape. I added some black Copic multiliner pen for the burnt wick on each candle and flame and popped them all up on the card front with foam tape above the stamped sentiment. Done!

And there you have it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!

Celebrate Everything Card Kit Releases in One Day!!

Hello! MFT's January Card Kit, Celebrate Everything, releases tomorrow at 10am Eastern so set your clocks! And be sure to stop by the MFT Blog today to get all the details and more inspiration from the design team.

The Celebrate Everything Card Kit includes the following products:
Celebrate Everything Stamp Set
Balloon Builder Die-namics
Celebrate with Cake Die-namics
Time to Celebrate Paper Pad
Card Stock - Smooth White (2), Moroccan Spice (1), Candied Yam (1), Lemon Drop (1), Prickly Pear (1), Caribbean Sea (1), Tropical Teal (1), Kraft (1), Milk Chocolate (1)
The following will be available as a separate purchase:
Perfect Present Die-namics
The Free with $60 releasing with this kit is Itty Bitty Celebrations Stamp Set.

For today's card I took this sentiment from Celebrate Everything Stamp set literally and used Perfect Present Die-namics to create a gift card holder.

I could have just attached the card to the box top and had it pull out of the bottom but I was afraid it would just FALL out too easily so I created a slider element to make it a little more secure.

After adhering paper from Time to Celebrate Patterned Paper to Sweet Tooth card stock for strength, I cut the channels with Spin & Slide Channels Die-namics then adhered that to a Sweet Tooth card stock base with two layers of foam tape.

I placed Slider Elements in the channels and after a couple of trials found the best placement for them on the back of the gift card, then adhered the assembled box top with foam tape.

And here's the front view.

To facilitate removal of the card, I stamped "PULL" from Interactive Labels Stamp Set with Moroccan Spice Dye Ink on Sweet Tooth card stock cut with Twist & Turn Interactive Die-namics. It slides out easily but also feels secure in the "box" when not being removed.

Once all that was done, I heat embossed the sentiment from Celebrate Everything Stamp Set on Tropical Teal card stock and popped it up on foam on the "box" front.

And there you have it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back tomorrow for Celebrate Everything Card Kit Release!

You Are So Loved - Color Throwdown Challenge #676

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Miss Broni is our hostess and she's challenging us to a classic color combo. Hope to see lots of you playing along with us this week!

I hadn't had a chance to use the recently-released MFT You Are So Loved Stamp Set and I thought it would be perfect for this color palette. To begin, I stamped it in Versamark on Ranger Watercolor paper and heat embossed with gold detail embossing powder, then applied a watercolor wash using Peerless Watercolors over the embossing.

Once all that was dry I spattered with clean water and gold and black acrylic inks, allowing it to dry in between each application. Once all THAT was dry I added a piece of Fun Foam to the back, just a smidge smaller than the card front panel. Watercolor washes really warp your paper and this helps flatten it out, especially if you're wanting the "popped up" look that I so love. Next I adhered that to a piece of Black & White Stripes Patterned Paper and then to a Chantilly Cream card stock base for the finish.

You're In My Heart - Color Throwdown #675

Hi all, it's time for a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Susie has challenged us to a sunny color palette to warm this cold Winter days.

I went with the house theme and used BB Sittin' Pretty Stamp Set and Die-namics to create this card. To begin I created the house using some card stock that retired after I made the card by cutting strips and overlapping them like you would real siding.

Next I added the grounding cut from Jalapeño Popper card stock cut with Grassy Fields Die-namics and after heat embossing the sentiment.

The images were stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored with Copic markers before being popped up on foam on the card front. Loving this!!

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the

MFT January Release Is Now Available for Purchase!

Hello, it's time! MFT's January Release is available now for purchase so be sure to head on over to the MFT Online Boutique and shop! And don't forget to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details and more inspiration!

I simply adore these quirky sentiments and speech bubbles from Miss Tiina this month! To begin, I covered a Sweet Tooth card stock base with more Sweet Plaid Patterned Paper because I have a serious crush on it.

Next, I stamped one sentiment from Straight from the Heart Stamp Set on Sweet Tooth card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink than I started stenciling the speech bubbles from MSTN Say Anything Stencil using Caribbean Sea and Ripe Raspberry dye inks around it. I chose sentiments to fit from MSTN All Kinds of Love Stamp Set and stamped them with Extreme Black dye ink, then adhered the card front to the base with foam tape. A few enamel hearts were added to finish it off.
