Our Friendship Makes My Heart Happy - Color Throwdown Challenge #708

Hey there, it's time for a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Today Lynn is our hostess and she's challenging us to a gorgeous color palette based on her equally gorgeous late Summer/early Fall inspiration piece. Hope to see lots of you playing along with these amazing colors!

I still had MFT's August Card Kit, Sending Sunflowers, on my work table so I thought I'd give them another run using these colors. To begin, I stamped the sentiment from Thoughtful Greetings Stamp Set on a Smooth White card stock card front and adhered it to a Smooth White card base with foam tape.

Next I cut lots of sunflowers and leaves using Sunflower Wreath Die-nammics and Farmhouse Foundations Die-namics (see colors used below), constructed the flowers and stems, and arranged them on my card front. I cut a clear acetate card stock jar from Farmhouse Foundations Die-namics and snuggled it up under the lower flowers and leaves so no adhesive would show though the clear card stock.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword #CTD708 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd708 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!

Fall will be here soon and nothing says late Summer like a sunflower!!! This kit is loaded with them and I absolutely LOVE the small sizes!! So versatile and just the cutest ever!

The sentiment, from Thoughtful Greetings Stamp Set, was stamped on the bottom of the background with Extreme Black hybrid ink, backed with white cardstock for strength, and adhered to the Smooth White card stock base with foam tape.

Next, I cut lots of sunflowers using Lemon Drop and Butterscotch card stocks, leaves, using Prickly Pear card stock, sunflower centers from Milk Chocolate card stock and the white daisies from Smooth White card stock.

Big Birthday Wishes - Color Throwdown Challenge #706

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Lisa is our hostess this week and she's challenging us to a cool color palette. Hope to see lots of you playing along this week!

To begin, I sponged Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with Broken China Distress ink and Sour Apple dye ink, then cut it using Big Birthday Wishes Die-namics. Next, I created a background using the same inks and Mini Cloud Edges and Drifts and Hills Stencils on a Smooth White card stock base.

Using foam tape, the die cut sentiment was popped up on foam tape and Cutest Clouds Ever Die-namics were added, also using foam tape.

To complete the design, I stamped the balloons from RAM Itching to Tell You Happy Birthday Stamp Set and cut them with the coordinating Die-namics. To carry out the color palette, they were paper pieced with MSTN Pretty in Plaid Patterned Paper and also popped up on foam.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have.
