I'm Bats About You - Color Throwdown Challenge #712

Hey there and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! His week I'm the hostess and I've got a fun palette for you to play with--I love cobalt blue and orange together! Hope to see lots of you playing along with us this week!

I sponged my night sky using Broken China, Blueprint Sketch, and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks then spattered white craft ink for the starry night sky and set it aside to dry.

Images from BB Witch Way is the Candy? Stamp Set were stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut with the coordinating Die-namics and colored with Copic Markers. Chantilly Cream card stock was cut with Grassy Terrain Die-namics and adhered behind and in front of Heartfelt Fence Die-namics cut from Kraft card stock. The sentiment was stamped before popping the front element up on foam tape.

The dry background was adhered to a Smooth White card stock base with foam tape and the colored images popped up on foam for the finish.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword #CTD712 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd712 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!

MFT's September Card Kit, Coffee Shop Releases Tomorrow!

Hello and welcome to Day One of Coffee ShopMFT's September Card Kit Release Countdown! Release is tomorrow, September 27th, at 10am Eastern so make a note! And be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for ALL the details and more inspiration from the MFT team!

I decided to create a cozy corner of a coffee shop in a shadow box for my card today. To begin, I created the box, using Floor to Ceiling patterned paper from the kit and matching card stocks. I thought it would be fun to create a scene to look at through the window so I constructed it using Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and Outside the Box Cityscape Die-namics in addition to Window Seat Die-namics from the kit. See below for card stock colors.

Next, and using more dies from Window Seat Die-namics and Finishes and Textiles Patterned Paper, I constructed the chairs and table. The table in the kit wasn't appropriate for shadow box use so I used the sturdier coffee table from Fundamental Furnishes Die-namics.

More decor using Potted Plants was constructed and added to the scene and a hanging lamp from Industrial Furnishings Die-namics hangs from the ceiling beams. All die cut images were attached with clear card stock strips to the bottom shelves,

A couple of cups of coffee sit in a holder to finish off this cozy scene along with the sentiment, attached just inside the box with foam tape.

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back tomorrow for Coffee Shop Card Kit Release!!

Blessed - Color Throwdown Challenge #711

Hello, it's time for a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Amy Rysavy is our hostess this week and she has a gorgeous color palette for us, based on her very cool inspiration piece.

Of course, I decided to use MFT's August Card Kit die for my card today. Sunflower Wreath and Blessed Die-namics make an impressive focal point, don't you agree? To begin, I cut all the wreath components (colors listed below), then assembled with On-Point Precision Glue and hot glue. Blessed Die-namics was cut three times from Black Licorice card stock and stacked with spray adhesive.

Next, I sponged Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with Caribbean Sea dye ink, spattered with clean water, then sprinkled with black acrylic ink. Once dry, I stamped the sentiment from Inside & Out Gratitude Stamp Set and adhered the card front to a Smooth White card stock base.

Finishing off was just a matter of popping the wreath up on the card front with foam tape and adhering Blessed Die-namics with more On-Point Precision Glue.

Wishing You a Season of Blessings - Color Throwdown #710

Hey there, it's time for a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Wanda is our hostess this week and she's challenging us to a fun color palette inspired by these unconventionally colored pumpkin-shaped cookies.

I'm using some just-released MFT products, linked below. The aperture was cut with Elegant Stitched STAX Die-namics, Winter Trees Die-namics are at the back, and the pumpkins are from Cozy Days with You Stamp Set and Die-namics.

Fab Foliage Die-namics surround the pumpkins and the sentiment strip is from Blueprints 27 Die-namics.

Foam tape was used for dimension, Kraft dye ink for sponging, and I finished off with some matching enamel dots.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. I just had to use this adorable Santa girl for today's card! PI Christmas Sweetheart stamp set and Die-namics is all of that and more!!

To begin, the image was stamped on No Line coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored with Copic markers and set aside. A panel of Joyful Plaid Patterned Paper was adhered to a Smooth White card stock base on a wonky angle, then a panel of Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper was sponged with Lazy Day and Kraft dye inks, the sentiment was stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink,  and the panel was adhered with foam tape after tying around some hemp cord.

HO HO HO was cut from Gold Sparkle card stock with Balloon Alphabet and Numbers Die-namics and popped up on foam tape as was the colored image for the finish!

Are You Ready? Two Days Until MFT's September Release!

Hello and welcome to Day Two of MFT's September Release Countdown! Release is in two days, September 13th, at 10am Eastern so make a note! And be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for ALL the details! Today we're previewing RAM Christmas Blessings Stamp Set, RAM Christmas Blessings Die-namics, MSTN Reindeer Love Stamp Set, MSTN Reindeer Love DIe-namics, MSTN Be Merry Die-namics, and Elegant Stitched STAX Die-namics.

I just love this quirky and cute MSTN Be Merry Die-namics! Very simple so you can do all kinds of things with it--cut it from patterned paper, decorate it as I have, or add colored images to coordinate--so much potential, right? I'm decorating mine with Christmas Garnish Die-namics and had so much fun doing it! To begin, I did a watercolor wash with Peerless Watercolors on Ranger Watercolor paper, spattered it with clean water and set it aside to dry.

Next I cut MSTN Be Mine Die-namics from Gold Shine card stock and twice from Lemon Chiffon card stock and stacked them, adhering the layers together for dimension. Christmas Garnish Die-namics were cut from colored card stock, and assembled as necessary. The watercolored card front was adhered to a Joyful Plaid Patterned Paper-covered Smooth White card stock base with foam tape and the décor adhered with On-Point Precision Glue for the finish.

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back tomorrow for Day One of MFT's September Release Countdown!
