Alter ego--Stamp Simply #117

Mornin', peeps! It's Stamp Simply Challenge day! And Sharon's got a REALLY fun challenge today: alter a store bought card. Here's what she says:

Dec 11 - ssnotime117 - Alter a Store Bought Card - If you don't have your Christmas cards done yet, it's crunch time! How about altering a store bought card to give it that hand made look and feel. You can use a newly purchased card and alter it with a family photo, some embellishments, a stamped image -- whatever! OR you may take an old card, cut out portions you like, and use them to create a new card. Just get some element on your card that WAS store bought at one time!!! Fun!!!!

This card was super quick to do and I love how it turned out! I had a box of cards hanging around with this large poinsettia bouquet in the center and nothing else on the card. So, I cut it out and used it for the focal image for my card. I also did a couple of strips of scoring to follow the CPS sketch for this week - #145. They're very hard to see in this picture, but the second picture shows the scoring better. Then I stamped a sentiment from Verve's Snowflake Splendor set with Riding Hood Red ink, added Riding Hood Red and Sage Shadow mats and some Dew Drops and called it done! Except for the time to cut out the poinsettia image, this card was done in 15 minutes, and with a hand made look!! Gotta love that!!

So, now it's your turn. Come along and play and take us up on the challenge--we'd love to see what you come up with. If you do, be sure to leave a comment on Sharon's blog telling her where you uploaded. Please use the keyword ssnotime117 if you upload to a public forum. Check out Sharon's fabulous sample and also the great designs from the Stamp Simply team!
