My Favorite Things' New Year Celebration

[If you're looking for my Stamp Simply card, please scroll down to the next post. Thanks!]

HAPPY NEW YEAR
again!!!!!

We're celebrating My Favorite Things today, too. Kim has an announcement over on her blog that I think is pretty exciting! Once you see it, you'll know why I'm celebrating :)

I'm going "formal" for this card, LOL! My base is Basic Black with a layer of Rich Razzleberry. The top layer is also Basic Black stamped with the background stamp from In the Background with Basic Black Craft ink and heat embossed with black detail embossing powder. LOVE that black patent look! Then I stamped and embossed the letters the same way using Alpha Dots (both of these sets are on special right now!). I punched them out with a 1/2" punch and matted them on 3/4" circles of Rich Razzleberry and mounted them on the ribbon strips with Pop Dots. Using my Dahlia Nestabilities dies, I cut several sizes from patterned paper and layered them to make a flower. The flower center is a designer thumb tack with the tack cut off and adhered with Crystal Effects. Then I added some punched out leaves and black crystals in the three remaining corners. I love this card and I hope you do too!

Thanks for stopping by and helping me celebrate! MFT teasers start tomorrow--you *will not* want to miss them :)
