A New Year of Color Throwdown and a New DT Member!

Are you ready for a brand new year of Color Throwdown challenges? I sure am! We've got a new challenge today AND a new team member to announce! How exciting is that!? So, you want to know who it is? OK, I'm easy, I'll spill it. It's Kristin Beuter!! Welcome, Kristin--we're so excited to have you part of the Color Throwdown team!!

Ok, now on to the challenge, but first, a little background. Kristin is our hostess for this challenge and she is also designing digital paper for Lauren Meador's new endeavor: My Time Made Easy. She gifted all of us on the DT with some just-released gorgeous paper to use today and here are the colors, inspired by the paper: Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, and Dusty Durango. We'll be using paper from these two collections: Fluttering-by and Shutt-erfly. AND, that brings me to our sponsor for today: My Time Made Easy. (Did you see that coming, LOL?) Lauren is offering two prizes, so be sure to check it out at the Throwdown blog.
For my card, I'm using paper from both collections, along with Whisper White and Chocolate Chip. The image I'm using is from Verve's Beautiful You set, stamped on Whisper White with Chocolate Chip ink. It's not showing up well in my picture, but the white panel is embossed with the Leafy Branch Cuttlebug folder. The bottom layer of my flower is actually one of the DP patterns, cut out with a Dahlia Nestie, scrunched up, and edge distressed with Chocolate Chip ink. Both of the butterflies' bodies are accented with flat-backed pearls.

Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use Mr. Linky to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD74 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there!

Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week! And welcome our January Guest Designer, Deb Horst! Welcome, Deb! We're so looking forward to working with you this month!
