Live your bliss - Color Throwdown #84

[If you're looking for my MFT VIP Hop card, please scroll down to the next post. Thanks!]

Mornin', peeps! I've got Color Throwdown for you today. My girl Broni has chosen some rockin' colors this week--I love 'em!!! Here's what she's got for us:Broni used Graphic 45's new Boardwalk paper for her inspiration so I had to pull it out to see what I could do with it. Is it OK to say I LOVE THIS CARD?! Because I really, really do!

My focal image was cut from one of the patterned paper sheets, matted and popped up on foam squares. The sentiment, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, is from PTI's Mega Mixed Messages and I used the new SU! Scallop Trim Border punch on the lower edge. I'm using Our Craft Lounge's sketch #4 for my layout and used three more paper patterns for the different elements. I'm also loving this layout! It's so great for a long skinny image. Then I tied a 1 1/4" striped ribbon, from Sharon Johnson's store, around in a bow--I chose this because it reminded me of the old-fashioned bathing costumes and the band around straw hats of that era. Some stitching, some sponging and some flat backed pearls finished it off.

Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD84 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! And be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!

  15. Of course it's okay to say you love your own card! Especially when it's as fab as this one!! GORGEOUS presentation of the colors and the papers you chose are amazing! What a great idea for the ribbon you chose...you're so right. It's totally reminiscent of the old bathing suits and the ties around the straw hats from back in the day. Beautiful card, Bar :]
