Grungy BOO–CTD #215

CTD215_2012oct24

Hey, there, everyone! It’s
Color Throwdown time and Lori has an awesome Halloween color challenge for us today, based on a yummy-looking inspiration piece.

swatch 215

I decided to channel Tim Holtz today ;-) I started with a piece of black Kraft Core paper, embossed a spooky tree, sanded the black off, and proceeded to almost completely cover it up! I’ve had this package of mini Halloween Bingo cards for a while and had only used one. I thought if I was going to get any use out of it this year I’d better stick one of them on this card.

Then I made a tag. I cut the base with
MFT’s Die-namics Traditional Tags STAX from Kraft card stock, then painted on some Mod Podge, and adhered some wrinkled up music tissue paper. I trimmed it around, then sponged with some purple and orange Distress inks. I think I blended too much—orange muddied the purple too much. Then I popped up a Die-namics Spider Web Die Only die cut from silver glitter paper and spelled out BOO with the new Die-namics High-Rise Alphabet Uppercase and black glitter paper, also popped up on foam. I then added some orange seam binding and some Tim Holtz tinsel twine to the punched hole at the top, with a Die-namics Halloween Charms pumpkin , cut from Orange Fizz card stock, tied on. I used Black Licorice card stock for the inside mat.

I’m using a bunch of supplies from
eclectic Paperie for this card, as well: Kraft-Core card stock, Idea-ology Sanding Grip Block, Idea-ology Mini Paper Clips, Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink, Seedless Preserves Distress Ink, Pumice Stone Distress Ink, and Scotch Foam Mounting Tape.

Here’s the inside with a sentiment from
WTG Trick or Treat.
