Making a List–MFT October Teaser, Day Two

teaserday2_2012oct11

Hey there! I’m back today with another October teaser. Today we’re introducing our new illustrator,
Laina Lamb!

Print

I had the very great pleasure of meeting Laina at CHA this past summer and I can attest to the fact that she is as sweet as she is talented—and that’s a lot :)

Here are the details about the upcoming release:

  • You can attend the New Release Party on October 16 from 8-10 PM EST HERE in the MFT forum, where you can WIN PRIZES!
  • The MFT release, including all new stamp sets and Die-namics, is on October 16 at 10 PM EST.  You'll find all the newest products HERE at release time.
  • The guest designer contest is going on now!  Check out the forum for details on how YOU can win over $200 in stamp sets and Die-namics.
  • If you'd like to see all the teasers for today, please click on over to the MFT Blog NOW.  Be sure to leave comments as you go for the chance to win one of 2, $10 gift certificates given away daily.  The winners will be posted on October 16 just before the release party, on the MFT blog.

I also want to remind you that we have a new color debuting this month: Nightshift Blue. Cardstock, felt, buttons, and ribbon to match. It’s a gorgeous navy blue and sure to become a staple in your stamping

Laina’s focus is mostly on scrapbooking but her new stamps and dies lend themselves perfectly to card making, too, which makes me very happy since I don’t scrap.

I’m using both of her new sets on today’s Christmas card: Journal It - Top Ten and Document It - December, as well as one of her new
Die-namics dies, Accent It - Flags & Tags.

So, first of all I stamped the notebook page image from Journal It – Top Ten onto some patterned paper and cut the top with my Die-namics Notebook Edge die. Then I stamped the numbers down the side—it’s so cool, they’re all on one stamp so they line up perfectly! Swoon! OK, so THEN, I stamped some things on my list from Document It – December. I cut a flag from Accent It – Flags & Tags and stamped “Making a List”, popped that up on foam and then the whole thing up on foam on the card base. Then I embellished it with a “poinsettia” using my Die-namics Upsy Daisy die. You can also see a Die-namics Fishtail Flags Layers STAX peeking out from under the list element. YES! Layers for Fishtail Flags! Love.

Here’s the inside of my card with a sentiment from an old standby,
Clearly Sentimental About Christmas.
