If you’ve been visiting my blog this past week, you know I LOVE this new Lisa Johnson set, LJD Pretty Poppies. OMWord, they are so much FUN!

I wanted to keep this card kind of CAS to show off these gorgeous blooms, but also I wanted to accent them a little more than simply stamping. So, first of all I laid out my stamps in an arrangement that pleased me, then die cut two of the poppy shapes with my Die-namics Poppies and Leaves set from Sweet Tooth card stock. Then I stamped the stems with the new Gumdrop Green ink and the sentiment with Black Licorice ink. Next I stamped the poppies with the new Electric Red ink on some large scraps of some also new card stock in the MFT BoutiqueSmooth White. Along with MFT ink, this paper is ideal for stamping solid images and is available now for purchase.

After I colored the center with Copic markers, I adhered the blooms and bud behind the die cut opening with bits of foam. This technique provides lots of dimension while preserving the clean and simple design. I also added foam strips to the rest of the die cut layer so the whole layer is popped up nicely.

I thought a sweet little basket gift card holder would be a perfect accompaniment for a thank you card. I used the Die-namics Trapezoid Treat Box, which was released last month, cut from more Sweet Tooth card stock for the base, then added the new Die-namics Flower Box for the front and back.

To finish it off, I made a Die-namics Poppy Builder poppy from Electric Red card stock with Black Licorice card stock centers. For the very center I used a Gumdrop Green button, and added some leaves from Die-namics Poppies and Leaves stamped with images from LJD Pretty Poppies and Gumdrop Green ink.
