You’re On the Nice List–CTD #314

CTD314_2014oct15

Hi, everyone, it’s Color Throwdown time! This week, Lori is our host and she has a yummy color palette for us to play with.

Although this IS a yummy color palette, it stumped me for a while because I wanted to use just released MFT products on it. I was stumped as to how I was going to make a Christmas card, but the creative use of black and white came to my rescue!

I started with a Black Licorice card stock base, added some Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics cut from Sweet Tooth card stock with the sentiment stamped at the bottom, and a moon from Witch Way Is the Candy? Die-namics (pale yellow). I stamped the Santa from BB Jingle All the Way with Black Licorice hybrid ink on a BB Jingle All the Way Die-namics cut from X-Press It Blending Card, colored it with Copic markers (red and pale pink), and popped it up on foam. Glitter paper from Sun, Moon, & Stars Die-namics and Scattered Stars Die-namics finished it off.

Here are the Copic markers I used on the image:

Another sentiment from the set was stamped on the inside.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD314 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented October Guest Designer, Tara Godfrey!

  2. Barb, first, I love these little whimsical Santa and reindeer -- I must be getting old because usually I don't like whimsical images much! Second, the link from Kim's blog sent me to the September post-launch cards for everyone except Melissa (of course). Well, I finally decided to comment when I got to your fireflies because I love them so much! :) I love your stars here by the way! :) XOXO, Mary
