My Favorite Things January Release Rewind

releaserewind1_2015jan8

Hello, and welcome to the first day of MFT’s January Release Rewind! Do you LOVE the January release as much as I do? I had SUCH fun playing working with them!

Print
I have two cards for you today using lots of the just-released products. My first card started with a Kraft card stock base. Next, on Sweet Tooth card stock, I stenciled on some embossing paste with Staggered Hearts stencil, stamped the sentiment, from Smitten With You with Cherry Crisp dye ink and Black Licorice dye ink, matted it with Black Licorice card stock to ground it, and popped it up on the base with foam mounting tape. Next, I stamped up some Sweet Tooth card stock with Damask Background and Kraft dye ink, cut it Stitchable Heart STAX Die-namics, threaded it with red twine, and tied a bow. Next I added an arrow, cut with Straight To My Heart Die-namics from silver glitter paper then added a Cherry Crisp card stock heart, cut from Heart Puzzle Die-namics. That little heart fit the arrow heart perfectly! To finish it off, I added some silver glittery enamel dots.

On the inside, I added Cherry Crisp card stock and Sweet Tooth card stock layers, cut from Blueprints 2 Die-namics and Blueprints 20 Die-namics stamped with a sentiment from Smitten With You stamped in Cherry Crisp dye ink and Black Licorice dye ink.

For my second card, I did a little fancy partial die cutting, inspired by the always amazing Jennifer McGuire. I thought these hearts, from LJD All My Love, would be perfect for this technique.

I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, and following Jennifer’s tutorial, partially cut the hearts using LJD All My Love Die-namics then stamped the images With Cherry Crisp dye ink, Lavender Fields dye ink, and Ripe Raspberry dye ink. I stamped the sentiment inside with Black Licorice dye ink along with a couple of strips of patterned paper that I stamped up using Plaid Builder Background and the same inks. I finished off with a few silver sequins, adhered with a Quickie Glue Pen.
