Hello and welcome to this month’s MFT Creative Challenge! Here’s the challenge we were given:
Come sail away with the MFT crew this month as they demonstrate their nautical prowess. Cards and projects featuring a decidedly water-oriented look are the theme of this month’s Creative Challenge. Peer into the porthole of creativity as we explore all of the stamps, Die-namics, and stencils that will have you yearning for an exciting day at sea or a relaxing day spent lounging at the shore.
Fun stuff, huh?! And how convenient for me that the new BB Penguins in Paradise set is just what I needed to set an adorable scene! I started with a Blue Breeze card stock base and built my scene directly on it. First, I created sand with Natural card stock and Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics, then the waves with Making Waves Die-namics and Summer Splash card stock. The sun was created with Zig Zag Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics. The sentiment was stamped on Sweet Tooth card stock cut with Blueprints 25 Die-namics and I made it to look like the trailers that planes pull in the sky with messages—know what I mean? I always see them at the beach advertising something. Since I didn’t have a little plane I drew in the lines as if it was off the card. The palm tree, penguin, and beach ball were cut from Neenah Classic Crest Cover, Solar White Smooth, 110lb with BB Penguins In Paradise Die-namics and stamped with coordinating images from BB Penguins In Paradise with Black Licorice hybrid ink, colored with Copic markers, and popped up on foam.
Another sentiment from the set was stamped on the inside.
That’s it for this month’s Design Team Creative Challenge! Thanks so much for stopping by—see you soon!
