You Are Not Forgotten–Honoring the Victims of 9/11

notforgotten_2015sep11

As we think about the anniversary of 9/11, like many people, I can remember exactly where I was when I first heard about the tragedy. We watched with disbelief the images on TV, we listened with sorrow to the reporters and truly could not believe what was happening. Those images and sounds will be forever etched in my memory--this is my memorial to the victims and their families and friends—you are not forgotten.

This card started with a Grout Gray card stock base, then I created my background on Ranger watercolor paper with Blueberry dye ink and Daffodil dye ink—the sun rising above the city symbolizes hope and a new day. I also cut New York Skyline Die-namics from watercolor paper and freehand painted in the stripes and the wash, using Zig Clean Color Brush markers.

I splattered it with water, then added some Scattered Stars Die-namics cut from Silver Sparkle card stock. The sentiment is from LJD Forget Me Not and was stamped with Black Licorice hybrid ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by—see you soon!
