Absolutely Fabulous—That’s What You Are

countdownday1b_2016may3

Hello, everyone! I have another card from MFT’s May Release to share with you today. What a great sentiment die set Absolutely Fabulous Die-namics is! You don’t need much else to create a gorgeous card.

I started with a
Sweet Tooth card stock base, then added some of the recently released Watercolor Wash Paper Pack, on which I stamped Pretty Posies with Black Licorice dye ink to create more pattern, to the top. I cut the “Absolutely” from Absolutely Fabulous Die-namics from Black Licorice card stock and Berrylicious card stock, layered and staggered them a bit and popped them up on foam mounting tape. The bottom part of the card front is covered with paper from Trail Mix Paper Pack and the second part of the die set, also cut from Black Licorice card stock, was popped up on foam tape as well.

I completed my sentiment using Simply Fabulous Sayings, stamped with Versamark on Black Licorice card stock, heat embossed with white detail embossing powder, and adhered. To finish off I added some enamel dots.

And that’s it! Thanks so much for stopping by today—see you soon!

Hello There

countdownday2b_2016may2

Hi, everyone, back today to share another card I made for MFT’s May Release. One Way Chevron is a great way to make an eye-catching background no matter what you do with it.

I decided to use it for a rainbow background and added a focal point that would compliment but not overwhelm the background. I started with a
Sweet Tooth card stock base and added some narrow strips of Black Licorice card stock down each outside edge. Then on a piece of Ranger Watercolor Paper, I stenciled Peerless Watercolors with a small waterbrush and allowed it to dry befor splattering with clean water and black watercolor, then popped it up on foam mounting tape.

For my focal point, I added Bold Greenery Die-namics, cut from Sweet Tooth card stock, Pretty Posies stamped on Sweet Tooth card stock with Black Licorice hybrid ink, and Hello There Die-namics, cut from Black Licorice card stock—all on top of some curled up black silk thread. I finished the sentiment by stamping Label Maker Sentiments with Black Licorice hybrid ink on Label Tape Die-namics cut from Sweet Tooth card stock, popped up on foam tape.

And that’s it! I love that stencil, don’t you? Thanks so much for stopping by—see you soon!

Thanks, You Have a Heart of Gold–C4C #328

C4C338_2016may28

Hello and welcome to this week’s Crazy 4 Challenges! It’s my last week of hosting this month and since it’s the end of the school year in the US, I’m challenging everyone to make a teacher thank you card—or if you have no need for it, a thank you card of any kind with work :)

I don’t need a teacher thank you card so I went with a generic one. I started with a
Sweet Tooth card stock base, then, on a panel of Ranger Watercolor Paper, I created a rainbow strip using Peerless Watercolors and popped it up on the base with foam mounting tape. I have to admit I LOVE the way it turned out! I just started on it and added and splashed and splattered and this is the result. The bad thing is that I’ll never be able to recreate it!

Before I actually added the watercolor panel, though, I stamped the sentiment, from Kind Thanks, with Versamark and heat embossed it with gold detail embossing powder. Next I cut Twice the Thanks Die-namics from gold shine card stock three times, adhered them together and to the watercolored panel. To finishe off, I added gold hearts, cut with Tag Builder Blueprints 3 Die-namics and Blueprints 25 Die-namics and called it done!

And that's it! Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has for you, including our awesome May guest,
Wanda Cullen!

THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C338.

Thanks for stopping by today—see you soon!
