Make a Wish–MFT June Card Kit Reveal Day 2

Print

Hi, everyone, I’m back today with Reveal Day 2 of Make a Wish Card Kit, MFT’s June Card Kit. It will be available for purchase tonight, June 21st, at 10pm EDT. Check out all the details at the MFT Blog and see what the design team has done with the kit today.

Today is “out of the box” meaning I used some product NOT included in the kit to show you how to stretch the kit contents. I started with a Smooth White card stock base then went to work on my card front. For that I used Ranger Watercolor paper and stamped each candle individually, again masking off to apply Zig Clean Color Brush Markers for my color. Tip: if you use these markers, be sure to clean in between colors REALLY well—the red I used was extremely hard to get off my stamp so clean it well or it will stain your paper as you go to the next color. I’d also trial any other markers before stamping on your card front.

After I got all my candles stamped, I used a small water brush and Peerless Watercolors to fill in around them, then I splattered some clean water and then a little black for contrast. I stamped the sentiment from Make a Wish Stamp Set with Versamark on Translucent Vellum, heat embossed with white detail embossing powder, and wrapped the ends around to secure—when you do this you have NO adhesive showing through your vellum :) I popped the card front up on foam mounting tape and was done!

And that’s it for
Make a Wish Card Kit, Day 2 Reveal. I’ll be back tonight for the release so I hope to see you then—thanks for stopping by today!

I really do love the scattered watercolor all-over look! You make it look so effortless, it makes me want to try!
If mine came out half as good as yours, I'd be delighted.
