NewReleaseCountdown_Day5

We’re starting off with some adorable critter sets this month and I have a couple of cards using them. First up, Sweet Sloths. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base and added a background created by doing a watercolor wash on Ranger Watercolor Paper with Peerless Watercolors and a waterbrush. Then I added my scenery by using Stitched Mountain Range Die-namics cut from Steel Blue card stock and Grassy Hills Die-namics cut from Sour Apple card stock and Gumdrop Green card stock, on which I stamped the sentiment. Then I added Birch Trees Die-namics layered on the new Solid Birch Trees Die-namics cut from Gravel Gray card stock. A Radiant Sun Die-namics cut from Sunshine card stock and clouds from the set finished the supporting characters :)

For the main attraction, I stamped the Sweet Sloths on X-Press It Blending Card with Black Licorice hybrid ink and cut them out with the coordinating Sweet Sloths Die-namics. I colored them with Copic markers and popped them up on the scene with foam mounting tape.

Next up, and Winter Scene using
Chill Wishes.

This card also started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then I added another piece of Sweet Tooth card stock from which I cut the circle from Starry Circle Die-namics and on which I applied molding paste through Star Celebration Stencil. Then I did a watercolor wash background and cut it with the star element of Starry Circle Die-namics and adhered it to the back of the card front with foam mounting tape to set the stage for the rest of the card design.

I stamped up the penguin, a snow-capped mountain, and a tree from Chill Wishes on X-Press It Blending Card with Black Licorice hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Chill Wishes Die-namics, and colored them with Copic markers. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark on Black Licorice card stock, heat embossed with white detail embossing powder and popped it up on foam, the added the colored images to complete the scene. How cut is that penguin??

And that’s it from me for today! Thanks so much for stopping by—see you back tomorrow for Day Four of
MFT’s November Release Countdown!

  10. Barbara, your cards are great! I can see that the sloths must be best friends -- what a perfect sentiment for the card. The same is true for the penguin -- perfect sentiment. I love the colors, your coloring, and the new and old dies that you used in both cards. Thanks for sharing.
