cardkitrelease_2017mar21

Hi, everyone, are you ready??!! Doodled Blooms Card Kit is now available for purchase in the MFT Boutique! You’ve seen some amazing samples over the last couple of days from the design team and that’s just the tip of the creative iceberg—so many things you can do with this kit. Be sure to check by the MFT Blog for more info and more samples, then go snag yours! Remember, we now have a new free with $60 die available for our customers with every kit release. It will be the free die (while supplies last) for the duration of the month until the next release. The new Free with $60 die for March is the Rectangle Word Window Frames Die-namics.

I usually go with bright, saturated colors for my cards but I’ve been so inspired my some of my MFT design team peeps in their use of soft and pastel shades that I decided to go that route with this card. I started by stamping some blooms with Versamark on Smooth White card stock and heat embossing with white detail embossing powder. Then I sponged, bottom to top, Cotton Candy dye ink, Coral Crush dye ink, and Lemon Chiffon dye ink, blending them as I went along. Then I splattered with black water color from my Kuretake Gansai watercolors and cut Interactive Word Windows Die-namics and set it aside. Here you see a shot of it with the interactive window open and a secret sentiment inside :)

Next, on a Sweet Tooth card stock base, I added a strip of Black Licorice card stock stamped with Mesh Background and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder that I had leftover from March Release. Then I tied around some baker’s twine to tie in with the black accents, stamped the rest of the sentiment on a strip of Sweet Tooth card stock with Black Licorice dye ink, and adhered it under the opening with foam mounting tape. The card front was then popped up on the card base with more foam mounting tape. I actually had not stamped the sentiment on the card front at this time and it looked a little bare, so I gritted my teeth, held my breath, and stamped it on the front. Luckily it worked—if it hadn’t, my fall back would have been to stamp it on more card stock and pop it up on the front. I’m glad this worked ;-)

And there you have it!
Doodled Blooms Card Kit is now available in the MFT online store so go get yours!!! You’ll be glad you did :) Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!
